Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Move on....its not worth it

After 28 years, Dec 31 2024 was it for me. Cannot tell you how relieved I do not have to deal with the ups and downs of VZ. The constant every year layoffs, and BS of the senior managers, directors who protect their buddies, and their "click", ridiculous high school games. Learn what you can on their dime, and move on. You may make less money, but in the end you'll be much happier. In the Bell Atlantic days, things were pretty good, but when the suits came in they f'ed it all up. Who remembers when VZ Wireless moved into BR and we had separate floors, badges, what a sh-t show. Fridays VZ W would wear jeans, and the VZ suits would look at you like an alien. Just because you wear a suit does not mean your smarter, or better. Get off the hamster wheel, find something gives you something....in the end.

VZ is NOT the best anymore, face it

probably because he/she saw how much secondary Medicare insurance is for retirees. One plus, they unbundled dental this year so can just get that if you can get better secondary Medicare through Via Benefits

Wow- glad you are gone. 27 years too late. People are talking about real issues and you're on hear being bitter talking gabout clicks and jeans? I guess someone is still upset people didn't ask them to sit at their lunch table... Look on the bright side, you can use your inflated VSP money to buy jeans, fashion t-shirts and white sneakers for your next job - marking receipts with a highlighter or serving mocha lattes. You seem like a grande, non-fat, lactose free, soy boy type. Vz will be fine and better without whiners like yourself.

I also took the VSP in 2024 and often come to this site. I have moved on from Verizon but have many friends still there. I hope the best for them and do want to see the company succeed. It is sad to watch a once great company decline like this. However, most of us saw it coming for a long time.

So you "quit" 11 months ago, telling us it's time for us to "move on", as you continue to go to your former employer's layoff website, since you, yourself, haven't moved on, but in great hypocritical fashion, have the nerve to preach to us how we need to do the same thing. In this economy it’s not as easy to move on. I like many thought folks who took VSP would have stopped the layoffs for awhile. Verizon so lean it’s hard to fathom it being more lean
