Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Any way to know the true scope of this layoff?

Not the PR number, the actual one.

@a7 always appreciated a bit of bar napkin math.

You'll never get a straight answer from our Leadership team. They seem to be sweeping the layoffs under the rugs to avoid negative publicity. Nothing to see here.

The focus on Customervalue is the first lie Dan told. Goal is drive AI to replace stores on Vz.Com

Each time I call the Vz site and AI Man tries to get me to talk to him versus a Live Agent I bail.

Can't handle real life unique to
My account requests.

Stock will sit low 40s best case.

What I find f-ing ridiculous, is that we find out layoffs from third party sites before we know from Verizon itself.

Bar napkin math.. they want to shave $5b in opex this year and stated ““substantial portion” of the savings would come from head count reductions”… so let’s assume $3b reduction in staffing costs. If you average total employee compensation between $150k-$200k you could be looking at 15k-20k jobs.

If today's articles are to be believed, 500 corporate employees booted, and 2500 store employees that will be transitioned to indirect sellers. So no longer will be Verizon employees., if they remain employed with whoever takes the stores over, is another question.
