So does this mean we will go 45 days after our last day before we get our severance check????

It takes a bit over a month from the time of your last day, until you see the severance. That is normal for any company, as there are a lot of regulations around severance packages. As long as you sign the agreement, it will show up, I know the waiting is difficult during these times.
