Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

July 2026 - The day we lost so much talent

Today is the day where XOM lost an unbelievable amount of talent between our Australia friends moving to Woodside and the remainder of the Brits being made redundant. Sad day for us all and we will suffer the consequences long term. DWW should pay when something happens but hey this Merica so he will left holding his $100M fund and be left to retire happily whilst others pay the price

@b7 oh now we are counting BTC people as employees. I thought they were "assets". This is horrible a company made here being handed to bunch of incompetents.

@ab+1 you poor, dumm bustard. Selfish pursuit is the only thing any of us should be chasing, as mirrors what XOM displays towards us.

LinkedIn Post on 1 July 2026

@ag+1kweq976p

Today marked a significant milestone as I, along with more than 1,200 colleagues, farewelled ExxonMobil Australia and New Zealand and joined Woodside Energy as they assumed ExxonMobil’s role as operator of the jointly owned Gippsland Basin operations.

My ExxonMobil career spanned 34 years and 15 different roles, located in three countries and working across many more.

I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences I’ve had, the opportunities I’ve been given, and the chance to work alongside so many talented people across the globe. The relationships built over these decades are something I will always value, and I’m fortunate that many colleagues have become lifelong friends.

I wish those staying at ExxonMobil the best, and I look forward to watching your continued success.

I’m excited to part of the Woodside team and look forward to bringing my experience to new challenges and opportunities in this next chapter. Here’s to new beginnings.

My only question I concern myself with each day is:

Have I created enough shareholder value today.

Everything else is just selfish pursuit.
