Does anybody else have the popcorn ready for the moment Dell realizes they've laid off way too much of institutional knowledge and things are not working as they're supposed to anymore and there's nothing they can do about it? I'm personally fully seated for that moment.

Ohh Dell is in great hands! They have large groups of gen Z’ers by the hundreds who are willing to take on the world!! Look at them. They’re a rare species. (They won’t last a quarter)

Nah, the model is simplify, simplify, so by removing people with institutional knowledge is less impactful.
Dell has been doing this for years and they haven't hit the wall yet.

"The graveyards are full of people we couldn't do without." Everyone is expendable and they can just hire others. Its a grind and a warehouse situation ... you come in and sooner or later you go out. The only constant is Michael himself.
@OP They will never realize it because they can't count it. What they'll see is products falling behind in the market (lower sales) and/or products with lower quality. Those will be considered the product groups fault and they will get beat up for those things.
The amount of people who think they are important to the company but don't have any patents or work directly for a C office is comical. You might think you're so great at your job but I guarantee you that you are easily replaceable.
They will layoff 30% and hire back 10% to correct their layoffs.
