Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

If there are layoffs, just do it already

The company culture is in the toilet and it doesn’t seem like it can be fixed, there are too many unqualified people in too many roles because Abby was too terrified to lay anyone off during the pandemic.

It’s annoying to not know what is going to happen but a massive layoff would be the only thing that could save my group. Managers won’t even show up in the office but then nag and put people on PIPs because of their attendance. Sorry, typo there the “leaders” are leading others to not come in, by example.

@d2 Look, as much as everyone loves to vent about "the man," the reality is that without a Team Lead acting as a heat shield, most departments would implode within a week. You need someone whose entire job description is to absorb the chaos from the C-suite so the rest of the team doesn't have to. What's happening now is just something else.

It stinks because the team leaders don’t want this either. Only 1 person to blame. Greedy billionaire. Work your wage.

Team leaders are the most toxic waste of human resources. Not sure how so many unqualified, egotistical, and generally trash people got promoted into these roles.
