Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Endless work, same paycheck

Every day more work gets added and there's never enough time. If I'm going to be this burned out, I might as well find a place that pays better.

@e2 Go off sick. Tell your doctor you work for DXC and how they make you feel. You can get 2 weeks, say it's not helped and get another 4 quite easily. It helps if you present as totally run down. Worked for me! Although you do have to come back to it, but if you can get yourself an interview in the mean time you might not need to.

Our whole team is stressed out. We have a skeleton crew which makes getting PTO and small miracle. It's basically a 24/7 job as it takes the other 16 hours to recharge, and by the weekends it takes a full day laying in bed. I'm to the point I wish they would fire me so I could at least get some unemployment file looking for a new job. With this schedule getting time off to interview is impossible. You need almost 4-5 weeks in advance.

Whilst some complain of having endless work, there are others of us who hardly have any.

When something does come in, it suddenly becomes an emergency. Management run around in a panic, throwing three people at the same task and going with whoever provides an answer first.

I've realised I can "win" this game every time—by simply letting one of my enthusiastic colleagues solve it before I even start. Then it's straight back to... nothing.

I've asked to do VR, but I'm told I'm "needed." Needed to do what? I'm not convinced anyone actually knows.

That's the reality of working at DXC. It feels like a constantly spinning mess, lurching from inactivity to unnecessary panic. At this point, I almost expect it to go bang one day - and that'll be my cue for an early retirement.

With all that work, please ensure that you fill out the timeshiiits regularly, that is how we bill the customers and also pay the big fat cheques to the executives.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
