5 Day In Office?

Is there any legitimacy to these rumors? I need flexibility to for my work/life balance and going into the office 5 days a week will make that extremely difficult.

If they eventually require 4 days a week, we better get dedicated desk space for ourselves instead of this d-mb reservation thing that most people ignore

Stop willing this into a thing. I’m in MPLS, and do 3 days a week. Seriously, grow up.

@a3 I don't even think we can argue space constraints in a lot of places. They could easily do a layoff and free up space in those that are more full and then it's game on. I put nothing last them at this point.

@f7 not by policy though. If people go 4 days a week that's a choice. There are some months that require one week where you'd need 4 days to meet their new minimum but that can be quickly remedied by taking 4 hours of sick time.

Work on Minneapolis hub and most of the major employers here are requiring 4 days a week.

Would not be surprised if 4 days in office by end of the year. The frauding MC keeps changing requirements to make more people quit.

They do not care about your needs or anyone else's but their own. It was made clear by GK that those who can't or won't comply are free to go elsewhere. Best start looking elsewhere.

I think it's just common sense to suspect this is a possibility. Our leaders have already moved the goal posts several times with no regard for ethics or morale. Wouldn't be surprised if they just switched it one day out of the blue and claimed the RTO tracking was too problematic, "a standard expectation to be in office daily solved this issue" explanation I could picture from our braindead CEO.

The only argument against it is space constraints.

No. These are just rumors for the present time.

Do I think we'll be back 5 days a week within the next 2-3 years? Yes absolutely. But soon? No. They'll shift the asks when they need to be able to fire more people easily or get them to quit.
