Location Tracking COUs

Welp. Just left a meeting with my director. Newest add to the presence reports is using the location tracking on our COUs.

Did they somehow add some other form of location tracking?
From my understanding the only thing that’s changed is the 3-days of PTO to be excluded from the report.

Enhanced how?

“ Registered devices with location services disabled will be reportable items. This suggestion is a COBC violation“

Wondering what kind of sick freak you are as to get your jollies from posting this over and over again. Guessing maybe you were a hall monitor at school that got stuffed into a locker. Repeatedly.

lol, this is absolutely false. The presence reporting states it uses badge swipes, corporate LAN, and WiFi. There is no secret COU data set included, stop saying untrue nonsense.

There are 50,000+ COU devices. Each store has a dozen demo lines, each RSC has one in their locker with a dead battery and a tablet to ring out customers. Each network tech has one in the truck. Each area manager has one too. At Google or Amazon, they’d pinpoint misuse in 15 minutes. At T, we’re still trying to stop senior leaders from sending racist text messages and bribing international partners. Good luck directors! I’m opening a hotspot for the kids to connect their tablets and game boys…

Laptop mics are monitored. We at CSO can hear you beating your meat and it’s gross

Actually the IPhone cannot be tracked unless the administrator placed the phone into lost mode which would lock the device and notify the phone user on screen. The device can than only than report location when unlocked by the user. In other words AT&T would need to have someone place your phone into lost mode, resulting in phone locking and notifying user with a Lock Screen lost mode message on screen. Long story short they can’t actually track your iPhone without your knowledge

“ This makes zero sense since a very large number of people don’t have COUs”

It would make as much sense as T going into the entertainment business. Oh wait, T DID that never mind!

You can always identify a troll - What's a COU!
And from work experience, the majority of employees have COUs, including non-management. As an example, all call center reps, either who WFH or in office, have COUs. In most buildings, the PBX was eliminated (I know, another troll question, what's a PBX) and all occupants were issued COUs in-place of an office phone or have to use VOIP. And the COU web site provides standard reports for COU tracking, I have used them in many cases to identify FMLA fraud when the employee was not home sick, but travelling instead (sometimes out of the country). Same goes for the amount of data you use, over a certain threshold, then your L3 has to respond with an explanation. Just know that if you use your COU for personal use, or as a hot spot, everything is tracked, and AP and HR can use these reports to support a COBC for term. Is it worth your job you have to ask yourself.

That way stankey can find out where the best strip clubs are when they’re tracking everyone.

My director told me they hired people overseas to watch us through our laptop cameras. There’s a whole secret organization that reports directly to Stankey that does this.

I don't believe you, and yet for some reason I just slid closed the lens cover on my laptop.

Now my laptop will be left in the office plugged into the LAN and my COU will be shut off and left in a drawer.

Problem solved.

This is the biggest troll post. COU data means less than nothing. My group was forced to have one but I don’t know anyone that carries it and/or uses it. Everything I do now is done through teams on my laptop.

COUs are good for keeping up on potential issues during vacations and that’s about it. There’s no way this company would waste development resources on tracking something a huge amount of the people they want to track don’t have or use.

I was in a meeting this morning with a Director who told me that ankle bracelets will be assigned to every manager starting in 3Q. Use is mandatory at all times.

Looking for any reason to terminate folks. All this is. my boss cares more about the compliance on the weekly report than what I’m actually doing. That’s a fact. Nevermind, very little is being done as folks just don’t care including the bosses. It’s all about butt in a seat at the office. I’ve even been asking for more projects and stuff to do, pitched ideas, no one cares. If I’ve got to be sitting there, I’d at least like something to do.

Not surprised. I can track my son on his phone via Life360. It was a matter of time before they started tracking COUs. Glad I refused one and only use my own cell.
