The CareFirst $50MM Lawsuit Against Insurance Brokers

I haven’t been employed at CF a full year yet, and I’m paying close attention to this site and how information is shared. I just got word of the lawsuit pending against two brothers who have allegedly defrauded CF. A few months prior, I learned from the town hall meeting prior to selecting the new CEO that we had an $80MM deficit in operating costs. This was in alignment with the VSP purge. I’m too young to retire but too old to be a viable candidate anywhere else, but I recognize the “last hired, first fired” scenario. I’m grateful for this site where some real convo can be had. I wish nothing but the best for seasoned vets and those like me who are chewing fingernails and wondering what’s next.

@nb This is because CF realized a few years ago that a majority of their workforce would be eligible for retirement soon and within a similar 5-ish year period. That is when they started going after the seasoned employees.

@OP+1kvnnqbr3 "Last hired, first fired?" More like "first hired, first fired." This company doesn’t seem to value employees who are loyal, dedicated, and work hard. Ever since BP became CEO, and even now, things haven’t changed. CF let go of an employee with over 30 years of service who declined the VSP and was only a few years away from retirement.
A lot of turnover within IT, particularly among directors and managers, which has raised concerns about stability and leadership changes.
Stay valid and keep moving my friend. CF’s golden days are behind us.

Google it. The story is out there everywhere. Apparently we're being sued by some of our contractors for non-payment for significant sums of money. Guess we need to pursue these brohers to pay more of our other debt. SMH
