Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Gail hired a Known Hit Man

To lead this important work, I’m pleased to announce that Ratnakar Lavu will join Elevance Health as our new Executive Vice President, Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) on February 5, reporting directly to me.

Now go to the layoff.com/nike and see what hundreds of employees are saying about him.

Kickback will be faster change. New leadership means no connections and expected results in X months. It’s easier to make uncomfortable decisions.

Change can mean many things, unfortunately the history attached to this decision may not go in the workers favor.

She built herself an impressive house of cards and lined her parachute for the inevitable. What's her kickback for hiring this joker bc there's got to be one.

@1kya+1qDK1naR He could t find a role because it was obvious he was fired. Effective immediately because it was not only due to performance but policy violations. You can’t trust this guy. Not to mention he lacks knowledge, vision and inspiration. He didn’t bring in a single buddy from his past that was a top performer- and most have been fired in quick succession after him. Super shady and ineffective across the board. We are sorry you are stuck with him. We hoped he take the millions we wasted on him and went to hide in a hole for the rest of his life - saving other companies from his awfulness. Good luck! Stay vigilant and don’t turn on each other!!

The email definitely mentioned that he was at Nike (and Kohl's)

@ujg+1qDK1naR
ELV is not a competitor of Nike. A non-compete wouldn't be enforceable. It is more likely that he couldn't find a role at this level anywhere else over the past year (the job market isn't great).

Offshore HR is not aligned with our culture. There is a policy (I'll find the #, this isn't a joke) wherein if you move, you are to get their permission and in order to keep your job you will have to move within 50 miles of a pulse point. Yes you read right. Same for promotions, you have to move within 50 miles of a pulse point. If this is not draconian, what is? They are giving exceptions, since the push back was so great. This doesn't go in American. We are employees, not serfs. Gail needs to go. She is evil. She is at the head, so it's all her.

Seems to fit with the hiring of folks who are genetically positioned for more off-shoring. If your skin isn't dark and you don't manage offshore, be worried.

I was wondering why the email didn't mention where this new guy came from nor what his qualifications are for the position like they do most of the time when a new hire at the Executive level is introduced. This chat thread definitely explains that. Thanks to All that contributed to it.

They needed a hit man to wipe out the US IT associate burden by shipping their jobs to CGS; the other leaders weren’t / aren’t doing it fast enough. Doesn’t matter that CGS is as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle…execs and shareholders only care about the admin cost.

Guy isn’t here to win a popularity contest - he’s here to fire you.

So Evilance He-l pushed out 2000+ employees quietly, inhumanly and dishonestly between Sept of last year and Jan of this year ONLY to make YET another billion dollar plus acquisition AND hired an evil, corrupt guy to yet another unfamiliar unheard of C-Suite position (CDIO?). What next? Chief Physical Information Officer? Chief AI Transformation Officer? Chief Chatbot Officer? Chief GenAI Hallucination Governance Officer? Chief Ship-All-Jobs-To-Offshore Officer?

When are they going to stop this non-sense?

And what did this phony guy do at Nike or Kohl’s to earn the wrath of so many employees??! That Nike thread is wild! He hired more quack deputies as VPs, SVPs and Directors from his previous employers and his professional/familiar circle, who turned out to be just as bad hires as him. And then engaged in some Charity donation fraud, and contracts to NJ based IT staffing companies (read: body shopping, resume faking companies) that fake and game the hiring process using dummy interviewees and overbill corporations like ours and Nike.

Most executive leaders have a non compete and that typically is the reason for a gap in employment.

Such nasty comments from people who are probably not even people managers on the corporate leadership. No wonder yall fired. Stop these nasty comments about India and Philippines. Fact is yall laid off while he got the job that pays millions. Sounds like yall jealous.

Based on what, the deep AI advancements Nike and Kohls have made in AI? The former prior to a year ago when he "resigned"? Hot take, but if that's the goal, Gail and the board might be barking up the wrong tree. This guy has been doing nothing for the past year as AI took off everywhere.

He'll have more than two directs, all should be nervous and probably are.

The fact that Gail has access to Google as well tells me this type of hitman is exactly what she's looking for. Why else would you hire someone clearly fired from his last job with only retail experience? Digital should be quaking in their boots.

Based on his track record, it seem likely that the 2 people slated to report to him will be gone in a few months and a whole lot of IT work is going to contractors and offshore.

How do you hire a guy for this role who was clearly pushed out of his last job and hasn’t worked for 11 months? How can the board possibly approve of this?

Stellar hire. No healthcare experience and a known a--hole. When the third hit on his name is "THE RAT IS GONE," you know you're in for a good time.

"Resigned effective immediately" - yet has been unemployed for a year. Sure, Jan.
