I work with a bunch of Analytic Consultants in Tech (we got mapped into Tech recently). Due to our unique situation and the fact that we don't easily align to any of the new Tech and Data Job Family positions, I can decide how these people get mapped within reason. So I'm trying to figure out which position(s) will have the fewest headwinds in the days to come.
The positions I'm considering for these people include: Senior Data Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, and Senior Tech Business Systems Consultant (P3 for any of these positions).
I'm sure I'll map different people to different positions based on what they actually do (as I should). However, there is some flexibility and I'd like to know what the general consensus is.
Are any of these positions more or less likely to be targeted for layoffs in the next year or two? If the answer seems obvious to those in Tech, please remember that I'm new here.
I would think shifting to the cloud would hurt the Data Engineering and Management family but I could be wrong.
