I'm surprised that the Bismarck, ND store keeps holding on. The store is a total mess inside, outside and part of the store sign is missing. The parking lot looks like Dresden circa 1944. The irony is it likely sits in a pretty desirable parcel.
If these stores have any hope of staying in business then they need to lower their prices to be competitive with the internet Items are ridiculously marked up. Truth be told more companies need to cut the bean counters at the top that truly do nothing, but mark up, cut staff or close stores. Lose the overhead dead weight and do business like you did decades ago. Sears & Roebuck was in it's time bigger and better than what Walmart and Amazon are today. In closing I say look back at what made it a success and not try to reinvent the wheel.

For what it's worth the Kalispell K is probably the last of its kind in Montana due to earlier rounds of closures.

Is the Sears in Gaithersburg really closing? I'm wondering since the lakeforest mall is already getting worse as it is, and another anchor closing just is not good.

The Camarillo, CA closing is not a surprise since the stores landlord announced in 2016 they wouldn't renew the lease.
Regarding the Kmart in Lexington, SC, there's a big new nice apartment complex almost completed right next-door to the Kmart. Might want to rethink that one.

No offense anyone, but proof? I'm not seeing evidence online, for some of the locations listed.
How about Tehachapi, CA that just opened a Walmart Superstore? In my opinion, Kmart was enough for the small town. Walmart receives a lot of junk from China (or southeast Asia now that tariffs are hitting China), and they used to have good merchandise. More funds shouldn’t have been spent to keep Kmart open in this town, rather than spending millions on building a Walmart and reconfiguring the streets nearby.
Eddie Lampert slowly strangled Sears and K-Mart to death by failing to renovate stores to make them appealing environments to shop in and failing to improve quality of merchandise offered. Instead, ever since he leveraged debt by using Sears as collateral, the stores increasingly looked and felt like Soviet-era department stores. You invest in an asset to turn a profit. He was and is like a cancer to Sears and K-Mart and treated employees indecently. He has k–led an American institution and harmed countless employees. SHAME ON YOU, Lampert, for corporate raiding of these iconic American marketplaces for all income classes.

They have gotten way over priced and the service to customer is total sh–,their managers and all the other employees dont care if you get any help or not and registers are closed when theyshould be open and taking care of customers not having people waiting at one or twoo for a hour or more the way they do buisness now days is total sh– good bye and good riddens to them.
