Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Any predictions on how the quarter will end? Would like to hear prognostications from the rank and file.

Quarter will end flat; neither up nor down.

At my store things are a disorganized mess; we have paint freight in the home decor aisles, home decor freight in flooring, tool boxes (the big rolling kind) all over the store, electrical freight (huge pallets of wire) in flooring, tools top stocked in hardware. Unless you put it there you have no idea where it is. Because of all the side stacks and displays we can’t find things if they are out at the home location.

Nowhere in the state of florida are there 3 stores within 10 miles of each other. Quite easy to figure that out.

agree with the poster that said they are having a very good quarter. we are too. but its at great expense to morale. we are doing well in spite of corporate and not because of. management/supervisors actually care but once all the knowledge and experience finally gives up and leaves who knows where things will go. corporate think if they build a store, staff it with warm bodies alone, customers will just buy and things will be fine. not a chance.

over the weekend i went into a few menards stores.....tried to talk to associates who had no product knowledge and no ambition to try and help. they walked me to where the product i wanted should be (AFTER i had already looked there myself–wasted time) but when it wasnt there...they shrugged and went back to what they were doing......i can find where a product should be as a customer...what i need the employee to do is investigate when the inventory i see on the app says you have a handful in stock but you see nothing on the floor! is it in top stock? are the counts off due to theft? investigate please!! the store was menards. their inventory counts are some of the worst i have ever seen. its not the least bit uncommon for their site or app to show they have product in stock only to go into the store and nothing is there. been going on for yearS and yearS in every store i go into. even talked to one store manager that had no answers for me and suggested that the product must have sold right before i got there. so i have run test to see how quickly product is removed once sold and imagine my shock...as soon as i purchased the product the inventory count went down on the site! sorry this is getting long but menards is a great example of poor processes and associates just there to fill shelves! who knows how often they are to investigate store counts. so when they didnt have the 1 product i was looking for most i left and didnt continue my shopping.....the rest of my purchase hinged on starting with that one product. lost sales all around due to inept, lazy warm bodies.

staff your stores, hire knowledgeable, motivated employees and pay them well!! the sales will be there! its a gamble i know because you have to invest in payroll......and then be determined to make sales to cover it.

It does not look good for my store either. All the good specialists have gone. Our top sales person in the entire store just gave his 2 week notice. Told me he was just sick of doing his job and providing above and beyond customer service and to have it all go down the drain because of operations failing to execute.
This company thinks tactical as opposed to strategically. In other words, we re reactive instead of proactive.
Corporate talks a good game but cant do sh–.
I'm seeing negative comps of about 22%. Our managers say it is because of the PSI sales from last year but we see right through the bull sh–. Last time I checked we had 28 job openings at a 23 million dollar store. We are sc-aping the bottom of the barrel for new hires and when they a belly full of Lowe's they quit. Sad state of affairs.

Lowe's is in a downward trend. From years of cooking books and recently showing that in the last report. Lowe's can't grow and thats going to hold them back. Slow on ecommerce. Not sure what Lowe's has going for them. Other then closing more stores. Where I am in Florida. You can get to 5 Lowe's at least within 20 miles. That's too many stores. 3 of them within 10 minles

I think our store may show a single digit negative comp this quarter, was -30% a couple days ago.

As a shopper I’d say it’s gonna be bad.

our store is having a very good quarter....and as crazy as it sounds that is the problem. Until this company starts to really fail at the registers nothing will change. Why have proper staffing when the numbers look good at the current level?? "We'll just beat the long time employees into the ground" I have lost all hope on things ever getting to a more professional, great company to be at level. The perspective buyers for Lowes are not monitoring anything more than the bottom line.
