Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

T mobile sprint merger

With the t mobile and sprint merger coming together, I would expect lots of human capital movement in reducing redundant head count in their organization within the next 5 years.

However, I would imagine that new positions will open and they would love to acquire talent from outside such as from Verizon to fill ranking leadership positions.

Thoughts?

Also, side note once they figure out how to integrate smoothly (rocky road), deploy 5g effectively (no easy task), streamline billing, operations and processes (4 year sh– show) I think they will emerge a stronger competitor than when they were going at it alone.

With that being said, I think Verizon will have to continue to try and lay us off to save money even though we are now back on revenue up swing based on our 10k report.

I agree that with the pricing, t mo/ sprint screwed themselves.

I am just hoping they can run a lean operation, utilize economies of scale to lower costs further & throw Verizon for a ride and expose the sh–ty conditions of being a customer or employee of the carrier.

As a side note Dish will fold operations and get bought out in totality by a bigger company within 5 years. Heard it here first. Blind defensive move bc its core business is crumbling.

They have a very tough road ahead. T-Mobile screwed up with their pricing strategy. The # 1 thing you need to a build a network is capital. Without the capital to build, you can’t build. The 5G movement will take billions and billions to make a reality. The second thing you need is fiber, which T-Mobile does not have at this point. ATT and Verizon charged more because they could because of the current infrastructure. Once pricing wars was complete, both companies were the same price as T-Mobile with billions and billions and billions more invested in their networks. T-Mobile lacks top tier revenue at this point. They will need to raise their prices in order to raise the funds to build. It will take years for them to integrate the networks and deploy new spectrum (5-8)? In the meantime they will also need to heavily rely on the LECs to provide the blocks. ATT and Verizon come out of this merger has long view winners because we both have what they will need most. There is a reason ATT and Verizon stock was up just as much as T-Mobile and Sprints with the merger announcement. It’s also the reason both were in favor of the merger. ATT and Verizon are money machines 2.5x the market capitalization of the new T-Mobile, with a TON to gain ahead.

Hmm. Will there be any openings at Dish? Or will they pull folks from Sprint/T-mob as part of the settlement?

Give me a break T Mo Bro...T Mobile is the real deal until the growth stops. Then they will slash headcount and reduce cost just like any other prublicly traded mega corp. And it will happen eventually.

The trick is to stay one step ahead of your job and jump ship before the $hit hits the fan. That is the "real deal".

Good Luck to Sprint and T Mobile. They are on their way to shaking up the industry and the Verizon will suffer as a result because it wont have any talent that will want to work for them to help them through the hump. The death seal for Verizon as it stands today.
