Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Thinking about leaving Sam's Club.

I am thinking about leaving this JOB to actually find a career either going to trade school, college or something else. (Now I am not trying to brag or looking for praise.)I started as a part time cart pusher but am now full time. I received a good employee evaluation.
Many times when we are understaffed and only one cart pusher was scheduled I have asked if I could stay past my scheduled shift to help the other cart pushers close. I am not a slacker and I have shown up to work and done what was asked even though I hate doing other jobs I did not apply for.

To be succinct despite the fact that I am a full time cart pusher I don't like this job. I think Sam's Club is unprofessional, unorganized, distressing and dysfunctional. I am not sure if anyone else shares these sentiments. However I am really considering looking for a career of some sort and leaving. What do you all think?

Please go to college before your in 25 years. The longer you stay the harder it is to get out. Empty promises and unstable is all we have to offer. Don’t get me wrong Sam’s has been a good career for me, the uncertainty has been stressful. I’ve had some awesome managers who believed and supported me through my 30 year journey. It’s nearing the end for me. I want to enjoy life and spend time doing what I’ve put off for so many years. I wish you all the luck in the world and much happiness.

I suspect you are still young. The longer you continue to hang on to any position with this company, the worse off you'll be. Whether you pursue a trade or college, the main thing you need to look for is something that isn't going to be easily replaced by technology (i.e. robotics, AI, etc.) and is something that will always be in demand. Electricians and plumbers make excellent livings and there are always opportunities to go into business for yourself once you've put in your time.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I salute all past and current Sam's Club and Wal-Mart associates. I understand how dysfunctional, stressful and crazy that work environment can be. Takes alot of mental strenght to deal with it all.
