Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

United Healthcare truths

  1. They do not "innovate" as they always claim, they buy other companies that have good ideas or products and slap a uhg sticker on them.
  2. Vital signs is nothing more than a bragging rights ploy to boast about to their peers in the industry about how "in touch " with the employees
  3. Any healthcare corporation that is a "for profit " company is NOT for your health.
  4. Hiring supervisors, managers, and sometimes even directors from outside the company without ANY knowledge of the job and employees that they are going to be in charge of is a damn stupid thing to do and will do damage.
  5. Senior leadership has nothing on its collective mind other than $$$, they dont think of "core values" etc...
  6. HR Direct does NOT have the employees interest in mind at all.

Just call them with a complaint and you will get their mantra........"rules are based upon departmental needs" and " rules are based upon manager discretion "

  1. UHG is "the game".. they own it, they make the rules. Good luck if you think you can beat them.
  2. UHG employees need a union.

They laid off the wrong people. They should look at the employees playing XBox while they work.... I’m laughing so hard.... too funny. These are the the Managers “favorites”.... they really need to manage the managers starting with Directors who can’t perform the job they are over....

I have never worked for UHG but as an unwilling customer I concur they are not for the patient just the shareholder. They deny care to millions while raking in obscene amounts of profit. They exemplify everything that is wrong with healthcare today like massive deductibles that crush families for POS health insurance that is useless unless you get hit by a bus. They can go f— themselves for all I care.

And when you’re acquired you’re initially told how great you are and that you’ll share best practices blah blah.

Very quickly they then beat anything unique out of you and you’re expected to conform to the (inefficient) Optum way. Hundreds of job aids instead of systems that function or properly designed products and workflows...

UHC buys the innovated companies so their competitors can't have them. The acquired companies and their innovations are rarely integrated into UHC. Within a couple years the acquired employees are laid off or the acquisition is completely shut down.
