I keep seeing a comment pop up asking-stating that this is a Layoff off site And lets get back on topic whenever posts-comments stray off a strict adherence to the layoff topic. I have also seen posts taken down when the topic is on an important company issues that should be discussed but the site handler felt it was not a strict layoff topic. Yes, names, vulgarity, slander, etc should not be allowed. But there are some topics that Chevroids want-need to discuss and this site allows that. Especially right now its a good place to immediately share all sorts of info in this once in a lifetime (hopefully) world event. If you can’t discuss it here where can you discuss it within chevron anonymously? I look at this site as a place to get a feel of what is on folks mind and find some good insights from some posts. Sadly there are some immature trolls that have to be ignored but trolls just go with the territory. Hopefully executives and management are confident enough and want to know what people are thinking and visit, ie comments on Wirths townhall. This site will be even more important as folks work from home and become isolated from one another.
What do you think? Why do you goto this site? Should we be able to post non layoff topics? Given interrelated oil, virus, economic events should there be more flexibility on posts allowed? How can this sire be made better (ignore trolls on this one)?
