I am lucky because I have a great manager who keeps me informed.
But I want to hear from our leaders, because I know that our financial position is fully broken, and I know then are going to fire us all but they are too ashamed to communicate.

To be blunt and non b–chy or personal.
The way the ILT have left their teams without any support, updates, team communications and to allow us all to fester and worry is inexcusable. This has to be the worst example of internal communications ever. I cannot believe they are so silent about any strategy or moving forward plans, all we hear about are email updates of leaders jumping ship. It really is disgraceful and unforgivable and the ILT should be ashamed of themselves.
One would have hope the senior leaders would have gone into ‘top gear’ but sadly all we hear is... nothing.
Tremendously disappointing.
Announcement what are you expecting information about the Business?
Communications on what’s happening with People?
Perhaps a plan of how we get back from this crisis after all she’s a turnaround expert so it’s reasonable to expect a transformation plan which will inspire us and recover the business.
I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news and I know many of you have been at home for some months so are a little disconnected however Angela has nothing, no ideas no plans no expertise, in fact she’s ignorant rude and lost in her self importance to even acknowledge her business understanding is still zero.
Look at the current crisis global as a leader she should have an opinion she should be saying something but trust her silence is potent.
And she wants to communicate one thing how wonderful she is she wants to PR herself externally about how wonderful she is, It’s a nonsense and the company with her at the helm is doomed, stop expecting anything she and her ILT have no plan no ideas and spend most of the time attacking each other due to the toxic culture that’s been created.
Look for other options and run run run.

If there was no money left how can Hertz afford to continue to pay the salaries of the leadership (director level above) team? They don’t come cheap. One of them could probably pay for 5 other employees. I do believe some of them are working hard, but I’m sure there are others just swanning around (like they have done for many years).

She is now famous in Hertz for being the biggest looser that they have ever employed, can’t think of anyone worse ever your are a hurricane that has ripped the soul heart and love from this company it’s awful now not because of Covid, I would rather have Covid in fact than stand behind you.
The IHG guys were right we will pray for the day you leave and celebrate into the night.
I have followed many great companies since this crisis began and honestly ours must be the worst, even people in small companies are doing things better, what is actually wrong that you treat the employees in Hertz like second class citizens, have you made a statement on your opinion on the current World Events??

Uxbridge Update.
The following is mostly true (you decide which):
- Plans are afoot for a select group of minions to return in the next few weeks.
- Social distancing measures have been put in place so that Brav doesn't have to come within 10 metres of an employee below VP level (when she returns from holiday in the 'States, and after 14 days quarantine in her luxury mews house next to Buckingham Palace).
- Calculations are being made to decide how many will be fired once the government money stops.
- Procurement are negotiating with suppliers to see if GSD wristbands can be used to pay invoices.
- Daren Monk and Wayne Kerr are going on an 'id–ts guide to lying on linkedin' course.
- The accountants have been in and calculated that the vending machine in the canteen is the most profitable part of the company.

Exactly, they’re all sitting there on full pay ‘saving the company’, whilst the furloughed lose money just before being made redundant.

Dump the buyback fleet, raising as much cash a possible, and rightsizing for the likely volume of business for the balance of 2020 and improving the accounts to show a positive position.
Dump employees, as in line with above, then run the operation whilst arrangements are made to transition Corporate business to Franchisees. Some employees will be retained, but the majority of roles will be lost in this final move into the franchise model.
Hertz Europe headquarters becomes a franchisee management operation.

Very early on I pointed out that there are no redundancies because Hertz cannot afford it. The company is protecting what little cash it has by making the most of government employee protection schemes.
You cannot make employees redundant whilst they are enrolled in an employee protection scheme. It’s pretty obvious really - the clue is in the name.
As soon as the government support stops then the redundancies will begin.
It’s going to take a lot more than green shoots to stop the massive redundancies that are about to happen.
Revenue, utilisation and rpd are massively down, and will continue to be this way for the rest of what is typically the time when Hertz makes profit.
Hertz U.K. was operating out of 12 locations instead of c.140.
The plan is to close >50% of locations.

So where’s the redundancies? Nothing so far. With there being shoots of recovery surely they would have announced something in Europe, considering what’s happened in the US.

So how did we end up with a leader who since day one has not once expressed this value or anything close, her lack of knowledge it terrifying and the new team she put in place are all poodles...Yes people to scared to get fired to actually stand up and be counted guys they are all protecting themselves while she has consultants building an org with 60% less people, so her little 10min performance yesterday about how we will all be together soon, how lonely she has been how life will just go back to normal is more lies, Can’t people just do the right thing, just say things are tough we will undoubtedly have to make changes, this situation is not in my control, however me and my team are doing everything we can....nope she F complained about her situation, it’s sunny and she can’t go out even that’s a lie she can go out rules changed seriously even the basics are BS.
She’s treating us like id–ts and we are all just going along with it..
So she said call her! I suggest she gets 700+ calls today to ask her to be honest because since the day she has arrived she’s lied and it has to stop we want the truth even if that’s not good news..Do the right thing and stop protecting yourself if you can’t do that don’t come back from your trip to the US!!!
A few things you should know and something to prepare for.
- The vast majority of furloughed employees will not be coming back.
- UK employment law is very specific on how the redundancy process works, including how it is communicated - and it was highly unlikes that Brav would do it.
- As ling as Hertz participates in the various Employee Protection Schemes it is more or less impossible to make redundancies.
Because of point 1, and bearing in mind that two thirds of the US workforce has gone (source Financial Times), the best thing you can do is prepare to find another job.
Get your CV together, and start the search.
Go on the government website and understand the redundancy process and your rights (it helps you calculate statutory redundancy payouts), your benefits and what you can do with mortgage payments, loans etc.
It’s going to be difficult, but it’s so much better if you prepare.
This was the most disappointing event of the year.
The call was ten minutes long. Two minutes explaining what chapter 11 is all about. Eight minutes of how lonely AB is being at the office for ten weeks by herself. “Please call me anytime as I am bored sh–less”.
I was embarrassed to then turn to my family, after only ten minutes to share the business update to give them the reassurance everything would be okay. My parents phoned me for the update, I was again embarrassed at how little I had to tell them.
The entire senior leadership team should be embarrassed if after ten weeks that’s the only update that could be offered to c800 worried employees.
It’s a very sad day for Hertz International.

News we can all read we have seen all the press, filings and everything else reading us the press release like we are all stupid was totally ridiculous, and news flash we don’t care if your sad and lonely we want to know what’s happening how is business, what’s the risks, and what actually are your team doing Apart from getting paid, to hats your plans for the future how will you bring the customers back, how do you think the summer will preform.

Well we now have the emails of everyone furloughed. So we can start mass emailing when redundancy consultation starts to make sure nobody gets shafted. Oh yes GDPR infringement. Nice.
