FISV 2021 “dominate” Forecast

  1. Staff Reduction

Headline, Feb 2021: “Fiserv Continues as a Market Lead in Staff Demoralization”

More location closures, random roulette-style RIFS, 10 hours+ at keyboard as measured by multitude of new hidden tracking programs, removal any remaining employee perks will cause an even larger volunteer exit by formerly dedicated workers. Which leads to...

  1. Outages and Missed Deadlines

Not enough people to keep the software running, secure, and relevant. More demands by out-of-touch “leaders” who want more from less, but with the added “synergy” of the staff remaining having zero knowledge of the systems they support or build, as all the decades of knowledge have been shed from the company. Which leads to...

  1. Client loss

Clients become upset when the money they pay Fiserv is not helping their long outages or requests for more features. This leads to high demands by clients to fix the ship, or they will run to a competitor. Last remaining vestiges of knowledgeable staff will be wrongfully blamed, and fired or will leave voluntarily. Clients leave. Bad press all around.

Fiserv fires people over 50 due to high salaries. And if they take their unvested stock it’s split by their leaders as a bonus. Lots of high quality folks running things there

@3sie+15NdeKiq, No, I don't think people should head off into the sunset because they are older. I think that the people who have a poor attitude like the op should leave. Why stick with a job that you have so many problems with? The op is the one that is singling out older workers. If things aren't as good as it used to be, then change instead of whining and complaining about what you think will happen if everything isn't done by what you think is right. Quit being the poor victim of demoralization.

@3nyi+15NdeKiq So you are saying Fiserv should have a bunch of young workers and the older experienced ones should head off into the sunset ?

Maybe you should try transferring to a new department. That sounds really bad. I'm glad I don't have any of that micromanagement. Maybe these old workers that stopped being dedicated, with their decades of knowledge, aren't as valuable as you think. Why would they have thought that hoarding their knowledge to just sit there and wiggle their mouse all day would work out is a little crazy. There are processes to deal with learning and knowledge transfer. You think young people can not figure this stuff out?

The odd thing is the people that like to micromanage are usually the least qualified to perform the role they are trying to dictate. If you work for someone that won’t let you be the best at what you do, it’s time to move on. The situation described here sounds sadly accurate

The new agile is micromanage 101. You must report any idea of possible solution to matrix of managers across all departments. This is to enable “group think”. Committees will decide in seconds the correct path. This is accomplished BT bully heading discussion. The upper management chain that sits in these meetings will not speak up. They have learned over time “he who speaks, gets assigned the task”. They are experts at dodging and hiding from real work. When the problems surface and they are called upon at the round table, the throw underlings under the bus.
Welcome to what the company owes you.
Black belt, agile, zoom.

Don't forget this one:

  1. Pay raises for the enterprise agile coaches

Funding the donut supply for the agile book clubs will become increasingly important as a means of countering the increased rates of depression due to the company imploding at an unprecedented rate. The company will continue to push the phrases "crawl, walk, run" and "the messy middle" in a superficial attempt at rationalizing their blatantly failed implementation of agile, thereby increasing the inward rate of implosion until the terminal state of a black hole has been realized.
