Worked for Chevron most of my career. Truly a great and well respected company. Feels like management is doing it's best to navigate uncharted waters. You can feel a shift that focuses on immediate, short-term returns and away from reserve volumes (quality or quantity). Hence, the focus on shale production and the elimination of virtually all MCPs.
The employees are very professional and capable. There is the occasional sh*t-heal or obscure job position that adds little value. Feels like they are doing their best to change that, like gutting all of PRC (adult babysitters?) and CPF (redundant ETC positions without charge codes) and eliminating ridiculously over-paid ex-pat positions. More to cuts to come for sure, especially once FGP starts ramping down next year
