for those who took the WTO aka voluntary leaving, are you applying for unemployment benefits. California law does not count severance for purposes of unemployment, it is considered as payment for past services. I am planning to apply, wondering if i should apply after receiving severance.
main issue is we will count as layoff. if majority of is over hundred or thousand apply EDD will know something is wrong and this is a layoff though cisco denies this is a layoff. clearly email says if i do not take nov 23, i will be notified in next round for voluntary most likely which is yes.
