IBM - The Ugly
IBM has struggled to generate top line growth since 2011 when revenue peaked at nearly
$104.8B. Revenue in the LTM was $72.3B. This decline largely coincides with the tenure of the
previous CEO. For far too long, IBM could not right the ship in terms of revenue decline. Over
time this took a toll on IBM's share price. Despite the new CEO, new vision, and the Red Hat
acquisition it is unclear at this point if IBM can generate consistent revenue growth moving
forward. IBM has not demonstrated ability to do so in the past as the IT market changed.
