IBM: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

IBM - The Ugly

IBM has struggled to generate top line growth since 2011 when revenue peaked at nearly
$104.8B. Revenue in the LTM was $72.3B. This decline largely coincides with the tenure of the
previous CEO. For far too long, IBM could not right the ship in terms of revenue decline. Over
time this took a toll on IBM's share price. Despite the new CEO, new vision, and the Red Hat
acquisition it is unclear at this point if IBM can generate consistent revenue growth moving
forward. IBM has not demonstrated ability to do so in the past as the IT market changed.

The movies' titles do not include the minds of people and their willing .. the ugly was the worst in common sens (and there) but embodies the actual cold war btw employeer (avid, ungenerous and aseptic) and emploeeys (starving, angry and mistreated) .. a war between the poors (inside - the latter - and out - the former , with 34B$ spent in a myth to be redimed year after year). To change the GTM strategy (segment 1 , 2, 3 ... let's go) and not the heart and you'll be at the start.

@1lac I don't know about Watson heirs. But if you go to Yahoo Finance you see that institutions own 58.7% of all outstanding IBM shares. The top 3 (Vanguard, Black Rock, State Street) together own 21.3% of all IBM stock. The next 6 or so own over 1% and over $1B each. Most is owned as part of SP500 and DJIA Index Funds, lookout if IBM is ever removed from the indexes. The rest is owned by yield funds for the dividend. Insiders only own 0.13% of shares, mostly top execs and BOD members. Not an ownership structure conducive to growth.

The Good was the blonde Eastwood. I like him, i like his soul now as art director and in his movies, actual and past. In S. Leone movies he is used to show the humans soul, where the metal and silk could face the evils of the world (many, too many). But a part of these cinematographic considerations that are sometimes of life, but without the imagination and abstraction what would we be if not monkeys, or someone is looking we are them, just them.. maybe, but just if Darwin was correct (not sure). Ibm in the sametime is the bad , the good AND the ugly (usually).. in any instant, both of them. If AK, JW or the next CEO and the real hidden owners (ex. watson's eirs and the actually pension funds etc) want good guys and girls and you want to be considered a good employeer and not just a provider of a payroll at the end of month you have to be what you ask to your employees.
