Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

If nobody goes to jail, nothing will change

None of the incompetent and deceptive executives and board members will go to jail.

Misleading investors, overstating revenues, understating debts, taking government subsidies for building networks they never delivered, taking tax cuts for promised jobs they never created, for off-shoring jobs that left American workers unemployed and dumping them to the government/taxpayer to pay unemployment benefits and subsidize health insurance, robbing the pension funds to prop up the cash flow, violating labor laws, etc, etc, etc..

Exactly WHO will sue them?
And that's what they're banking on, that nobody will or can.

And even if? So what? Remember that - even after investigations - nobody at Enron, MCI/Worldcom, Arthur Andersen went to jail for any of their actions, and neither did they return the money they took.
The worst that will happen is that they retire with the money they stole from us all, enjoying the sunset on their sprawling estates, patting themselves on the back that they pulled it off unscathed.

Remember "Rethink Possible"? They proved that it truly is possible to bring down an strong economic leader and 'most admired' American company in a few years without personal consequences.

Welcome to Corporate America, where crime and incompetence really pays.

Sorry, @qfu+1aWe8QQ0, that is a bit naive thinking. Everybody says 'no laws have been broken', until somebody proves that there were. And they all knew it. Agree with another post that an investigation is warranted.
Even Enron and Worldcom thought they were invincible until evidence said otherwise. The BOD members have their own companies to run, and the lack of leadership they showed on this board throws into question their own ability to run their own entities. It sure is a stain to their own name to be associated with this.
The BOD for ERCOT got thrown under the bus for the winter storm outages, which was one-time event and a lot more unpredictable. But this BOD tolerated and supported all these failing shenanigans for decades, at the taxpayer's expense.

No laws have been broken, just bad leadership.

Randall has three luxury homes, $300 million in the bank, corporate jet privileges, free medical care, free luxury automobile, $1 million consulting fee and a $274k/mo. Pension.

Stankey has $100 million in the bank, access to all the company perks, full control of the BOD, $1 million in dividends this year, luxury homes and a golden parachute.

No jail and no accountability!!!
