This call embodied everything that is wrong in the HR function. Vague, non-answers to questions, over-moderating comments and questions, and presenters who clearly aren’t even onboard with the sunny narrative they are trying to sell. When asked about roles and responsibilities in the new model, one presenter said “the business does not care who does what. We just need to get it done” and then the next presenter later said “we think it’s important to define clear roles and responsibilities”
Very disappointed that comments and questions providing constructive feedback in a non-confrontational way were flat out removed as soon as they were submitted.
If HR senior leadership is surprised or confused as to why employee morale is so low and HR attrition continues to increase, they need to look no further than calls like this one.
