I hired in 1997.
The benefits were great. The pay made you upper middle class because you did not have to pay outrageous healthcare costs.
Now I hear the pension that many came to work for is being attacked. I am disgusted how employees who worked 25-30 years had hopes of walking away with healthcare and a pension that would help them in terirement.
You have to work until you are 65 to pay into overpriced healthcare. The union really laid an egg. I have no idea why anyone pay those union dues.
The best thing for you all is to walk away.
That last contract was a g-n punch. This company is making you pay outrageous healthcare plans that are tripled than other companies and very least double.
As long as you show up and take it they will keep taking more.
You can find happiness elsewhere.
Take what you have now and leave that place. There are other jobs hiring and much better benefits without paying useless union dues.
Honestly the slackers are happy collecting a check but don't realize the financial losses you are taking there.
It is a bloodsucking company and the union is just as bad.
I feel for every person that gave their time. This is not the bell companies that took care of employees.
To make matters worse they are in debt despite making billions in profiteer yearly.
They get what they deserve. Failed leadership made bad choices for the last 15 years.
Walk away happy
