Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

How is it optional if mandatory?

So we are told it’s a violation of COBC if you don’t get vaccinated and that you have to attest and upload your card as proof (or be in violation). Yet all through the attestation flow, it says it’s voluntary and optional and you have to consent as such before you can move through the flow. A mandate/requirement is NOT optional. That feels like a lawsuit alone.
My attestation wasn’t voluntary or optional. It was under duress that I’d be fired. It’s gross to me that I had to disclose which vaccine I received, too.

In hindsight, I wish I’d have fought it. I could’ve gotten a doctor note to confirm vaccination but not give the details. Why wasn’t that an option? It’s really upsetting and I feel violated.

A year ago we could not imagine this type of Mandate. I don't care if you get the jab or not, it's a personal decision. Basically it is your right to choose. The more important question is, where will this lead us? If all comply then next month or next year Companies will require that your unvaccinated children and babies get vaccinated by another new experimental vaccine as a condition of employment, and on and on... There will be no personal choice any longer unless big Govt and big business allow it. Sound like fun? Think about it a little longer.

I read the article and completely agree. It’s time to let these people go…As for those of us who’ve followed the science, we’ll continue to wear the mask, wash our hands repeatedly, get a booster shot when it is recommended…and mostly stay clear of people referenced in the article. My personal decision; my choice.

Me, too….regarding the comments made by Benefits person. It is not ignorant bliss, though. It is a rejection of many ideals we’ve taken for granted that we all believed we had in common. It is willful disregard, disdain and disrespect for anything or anyone that does not meet their narrow narrative. Like proven facts, history, science, climate….Blissful ignorance suggests that they just don’t know any better…untrue. That is not at all the case. They know exactly…but they resent and reject.

Thank you to the Benefits person several posts ago for pointing out that AT&T is in fact self-insured for employees medical plans. I have known this for many years. I thought it was common knowledge, but apparently a lot of folks on this board are blissfully ignorant.

HR Onestop clearly states if you are not vaccinated by October 11 you are guilty of a COBC.

This comment is hypocritical and disturbing on so many levels. The C suite and Corporate are clearly the biggest violators of the COBC and it’s not even close. Again, lots of clot shot troll bots scouring these forums

Once again, that’s what you took from that? It’s no wonder you blindly comply without question.

So sad that everyone is arguing about choice and privacy.. and those saying to comply and give up jobs/livelihood. It coercion. Its about the company. Not you. You are just an ATTUID. Nothing more. The uppers will continue to get a paycheck even after leaving. I am vaxxed, this is wrong.

Ewpd: So you don’t have a rational, intellectually sound reason…other than…I don’t want to…and they can’t make me. But no one, including ATT, can make you get vaccinated; though they do have the legal right to mandate that you provide evidence that you’ve been vaccinated…should you wish further employment with them. If that’s your choice, T won’t stand in your way if you refuse. Choice right. And freedom. So congratulations there. They can fire you if you don’t legitimately show your Covid card though…congrats, again.
Comments about ED, gender reassignment are so very uncouth and inappropriate. Apparently you’ve got a bit of a fixation issue. Who are you trying to impress?

@2eau

THAT’s your takeaway from this? It’s privacy and a choice. The company doesn’t need to know the specific details of the vaccination. Some of us aren’t aligned with the millennial over-share mentality who post what they had for breakfast and invasive surgeries or the details of their last therapy appointment in excruciating detail.

A better question is why are you ok with them having this information? Why don’t you tell them all about the brand of your ED medicine, too? Or your gender re-assignment surgery and details?

This is how privacy slowly starts to erode, one “why does it matter” at a time.

The resistance to providing evidence of vaccination is mind boggling. What is the fear or concern? I’ve not read one comment here that presents a rational, critical thought based reason. What’s the problem?

Hey, d-mba$$$ . . . it IS a requirement for employment at AT&T that ANY employee MUST submit to a random dr-g test - at the company's expense - at any time account of AT&T being a federal contractor. Look it up in the HR site. Obviously you're a bottom-feeder around here or a non-employee troll . . .

2uoh: Your advice recommending criminal behavior to employees (using fake covid ID cards) is ill advised. I guarantee that anyone caught committing such unlawful act, will be unceremoniously dismissed from employment….and that pertains to all companies.
I anticipate very soon that issuers will migrate to an updated covid card with a hologram or other security method.
BTW, this site is not unmonitored.

The vaccine companies are immune from liability, therefore they are not responsible if you take the vaccine and drop dead from it. If they aren't willing to stand behind their product, who in their right mind fights to get in line to take it? Not me. In addition, the vaccine companies have paid out billions in damages for products they knew would cause death or injury, such as Vioxx, Bextra, Celebrex, Thaliodomoide and Opiods.... And you want us to take their products? No thanks. By the way, these products are not even vaccines.... A vaccine provides immunity to a disease and these vaxs, best-case, reduce the chance of getting a severe case - you don't even know what you're getting.....Given this - its a medical treatment only..... There are therapeutics that work and I will rely on those should I encounter Covid or its next of kin.

Those MRNA vaccines have an FDA warning for risk of myocarditis and pericarditis. But don't worry, it's rare that you'll be hospitalized for it. Just a little heart inflammation won't hurt you. They only need your heart to last until retirement anyway.

Lots of misinformation here. I work for the AT&T Benefits team so I’ll try to clarify:

  • AT&T does in fact pay for your health bills. We are so large, we are self insured. Meaning if you get a vaccine, do you yearly checkup, or have medical pills past your deductible AT&T is the one who pays the bills. If you want proof open the Castlight app and do a search for the cost of surgery. It will say “AT&T pays $X” and “You pay $Y”.
  • AT&T does NOT have any access to your direct medical records. Instead, we pay a 3rd party (BCBS or UHC or smaller HMO’s) to manage the program. We collect aggregate data (ie: how many people are overweight, how many had hip surgery) but no personal identification.
  • The new requirements have nothing to do with insurance. They are about protecting our fellow employees and customers
  • The company has every right to do this. Over 50% of fortune 100 companies now have vaccine mandates, and more are coming. And the federal government and courts have all ruled that this is allowed. You work for an at-will employer, so unless you have a special contract with the company (mostly execs) take it or leave

Post ID: @2yeg+1cloDiR3

Go ahead geniuses and find it. The courts have already said it’s perfectly legal of companies to mandate vaccination as a condition of employment. Your lawsuits aren’t going anywhere. The company is doing the right thing for the company and for the general public.

Print out one of the many online cards and give it to your boss. In the early days of the vaccine, so many different people from different groups were filling them out, they had no standard. No one at T is intelligent enough to tell a fake from a real card.

folks need to calm down about this. The company has not directly stated that anyone will lose their job if they don't get the Wuhan vaccine jab. They imply this, but they won't state it directly for a number of reasons. Maybe someone should ask that question directly on a call or in writing and see if any of these highly-compensated parrots will tell them yes, you'll lose your job. I love to see it.

Also, there are several dozen states that already have laws on the books prohibiting negative actions by employers against employees not getting the poison job. There are some great legal websites that track the state-by-state statuses of this and can easily be found. Each state is different, but the gist of it is you can't fire someone over the Wuhan jab. ATT isn't going to do anything that violates a bunch of state laws. Forget about federal laws and rulings. State laws will prevail. Att can't afford the negative PR that will come with terminating employees over this and getting sued in state courts.

They are just trying to scare as many people as possible into getting the poison jab. They will stand down on this like they do on all the other cr-p they pull. If you don't want to get it, don't. If you do, now is the time.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get an announcement in early Oct that return to the office has been delayed until 2022.

" They pay all the claims, not the insurance company."

Someone has no idea how insurance works.
You actually believe that AT&T itself pays medical bills to providers?
Dummies. Dummies everywhere here.

AT&T pays part of the premium to insurance companies. You pay the rest.

The insurance companies deal with hospitals, providers, etc. They pay the claims. That's what insurance is. How do you make it through the day?

Imagine in a year or so if someone with authority decides to admit vaccines were a massive mistake and everyone who got one is a terrible risk to the bottom line. Would you still be trusting your company with your private medical treatment information? Anything could happen. So, think about it from the flipped perspective that a yes is bad. How would you feel about them discriminating against you for the coerced decision you are making right now.

Well OSHA does not agree with it and is in conflict with the Gov't.. They upheld their April ruling again just the other week which identifies that if an employer requires an employee to be vaccinated and the employee suffers any medical issues and or a fatality as a result of the vaccine, the employer can be held accountable as it it per Osha a work related injury.
