Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

VZ is responding to exemption requests..

Saw two exemption requests, one approved, the other denied.

The approved one included this text:

This responds to your request for a medical accommodation related to Verizon’s COVID-19 vaccine requirement. Your request remains under review. Accordingly, beginning on January 4, 2022, you should adhere to the following instructions regarding access to Verizon worksite/office: Pending a determination, for up to 45 days from January 4, 2022 continue to work remotely. During this period, you will not have access to Verizon worksites/offices, customer or other third-party locations to conduct in person Verizon business. We will inform you if at any point you are required to adhere to additional safety protocols (e.g., COVID-19 testing).

The one that was denied mentioned he is on unpaid leave till he gets the second shot:

Based on your submission, you will be placed on unpaid leave. You can avoid being placed on unpaid leave by submitting the updated Vaccine Verification form by December 8th, 2021. You have till Jan 4th 2022 to receive your second vaccination shot to be fully vaccinated and update your prior submission.

It sounds like that guy got the first shot then applied for religious exemption and they denied it because he already got one, so they want him to get both. Which doesn't bode well for anyone who got any vaccine later trying to get an exemption.

First off, doctors generally don't know that much about new research, they live based on sound medicine and research, not cutting edge stuff.

Here's a recent study:

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/355229973_SARS-CoV-2_Spike_Impairs_DNA_Damage_Repair_and_Inhibits_VDJ_Recombination_In_Vitro

The vaccines prevent dna repair. Want cancer? That's how you can get cancer of everything in short order.

Enjoy your boosters.

“Everyone you know” come on man. They are called doctors talk to one. Everyone you know is probably misinformed. Medicine is far from perfect almost all treatments are based on probability. The vax increases you probability that is all. The rest of these argument are based on political pressure. Does “everyone you know” agree the 1/6 crowd is bunch of traitors that need to be punished?

@ehr+1dSgiQwn Everyone I know is telling me that they know of one person that has had a negative reaction that has affected their life. I hear it every day and even the other day when I got my blood taken, the lady greeting my blood sample told me how many people are coming in that had a reaction but they are saying it’s something else. My friends grandfather got it and died a week later from a heart issue that he didn’t have before but if he had covid, they would of said he died from that. One day all the people that are pro mandate will see why some of us chose not to take it. Let people have the choice.

@gon+1dSgiQwn You are spreading fake news. Talk to a physician. You are making health choices based on your politics. Wake up

"Why would you only get one makes no sense?"

A: It makes sense if after getting the first shot, a friend or relative had a shot-induced heart attack or stroke, or (worse) died like tens of thousands of others have.

"It's not hard and it's free..."

A: The jab may be free, but hospital care and/or funeral arrangements resulting from the jab won't be.

@vpd really? If you got one shot get the other and put this behind you. Why would you only get one makes no sense? If you are that person you are exactly why there is mandate.

Just be a human and get the safe and effective vaccine. Its not hard and its free, it's the least you can do for society

My take from the ops post would be if you are a person that enters a facility the odds of getting an exemption drop significantly. If you never leave your house they might let you slide. But you won’t be allow in a facility unvaccinated. The approved exemption is only temporary so at any time they can say get vaxed or go.
That is bad scenario for a lot of folks.
I don’t think the company is going to give much on this.

in retrospect, it sounds like asking for exemption and not telling them you had the vaccine is the better long term path..

ask for an exemption then if it's denied be like, oh I got vaccinated months ago
