Do you get to keep your retirement if you get fired?

It depends on your vesting, not why you leave the company. If you are vested, you keep your pension. That is the law.
I have been asking this question for years. The answered should be pretty simple
but you would be surprised at how many different answered I get. Thank You for
bring the question up.
If fired for cause THEFT - then NO. You lose everything except your vested 401 match.
Yes. No matter the reason if you’re vested.
For cause (theft) NO.
Can't do the job YES if vested.
