U-band.
hired at $100base, Nike "value" assessed at $120
$115k base pre Nov
$120 post Nov.
Have tried for years to make this right by market value. The initial was too low to begin with, but i was looking for stability and an opportunity at the time. The times have changed, now seeing offers external at $150-200; but Im not begging or in a crunch personally so i'm choosing to be choosy before jumping. Still, the idea a future here yields any possible path to break out of this is bleak. I will be leaving soon. Too many pals of leadership with less exp and role responsibility sitting capped in U band around $140k base, and gate blocking directors taking any available Eband in the department. When someone in your pay conversation says there's no E bands open, or not enough "upper" band slots available they mean it; because they themselves are holding those positions or you were leaped over by a pal or loyalist.

E-band, 7 direct reports
€92K, 20% bonus, 10% stock - I think that puts me in the top 10% of income earners here.

No, these numbers aren’t net… EMEA salaries are lower when you compare gross contract value, that’s true across industries. My cousin is moving from Philly to outside Paris, (pharma industry) and will go from $115K to €75K - that’s roughly a 25% discount on gross salary!

It’s not just health insurance. The complete social benefit system is different…parental leave, sick leave, more vacation, And don’t forget that in general, the contacts in Europe have MUCH higher job security compared to the US.

Def not getting rich in emea. Even if you do add in the 10k in health insurance

Im guessing the Europeans commenting are sharing their NET salary, not gross. They probably also don’t have $800/month taken out of their paychecks for health insurance

Why are the EMEA salaries so low? I guess you guys don’t have to deal with our healthcare system but still - I can’t imagine it’s cheap to buy property in the Amsterdam area… do you get other perks? I know some people over there get company cars?

@2xxl, personally, I do not dispute that knowledge is good (not sure about knowledge is power). That being said, anyone who does not want to divulge their salary and TC, that is their right. Does not make them haters or "less progressive" though. It is OK to disagree or believe in something that does not align with your own set of beliefs, is it not?

The haters on here are baffling, knowledge is power, advocate for yourself

E band - 12 yoe - supply chain
170/20% and 40 rsu - what do people on here think of the vest schedule?

I recently hired a u band at $140 (internal candidate) and getting it approved by HR was an absolute nightmare - someone else said it here but the only way to increase is to leave. A u band friend of mine now makes much more than I do (TC of $310k as an IC in tech)

First of all, great topic.

Secondly, looks like here in EMEA we are vastly underpaid. U band manager here (4 direct reports), 75K Euros base salary (roughly 85K Dollars), and the highest taxes in Europe.

I see L bands in global seems to get paid more than me, and my salary is pretty common in EMEA amongst my peers. Definitely not HIGH, but on the median side.

We should all share pay.

Incredible stuff.

counterparts in tech are closer to 600k tc w/ a few making significantly more.

most upsetting part is there are “brand” people in my band making the same - working in brand at Nike is like working in fries at McDonald’s - auto pilot

I learned my predecessor’s salary (thanks for leaving behind your pay statement). Ouch to say the least I was like $60k less. THEN I was leveled up to the minimum (gee thanks after 15 years I’m finally qualified for the minimum) as part of the company wide sweep reported on in the NYT. Bottom line I was paid below the market threshold, far less than my peer and all the while my boss pushed me to increase my subordinate’s salary during 2x pay review.
