Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

VAX MANDATE THREAD VACCINE BOOGALOO

Let’s light the candle on Vax mandate thread v2!

So far the court systems have shutdown the multiple executives orders for vaccine mandates. Private companies like Cisco can still try and impose mandates in their employees. Cisco said that the mandates were only because of the governments mandates and they had to comply. There are crickets from ELT.

What do you think?

You dodged a bullet really. Thank you for standing up for what you believe in. Cisco is highly discriminatory against religious folk - you would have probably had some serious roadblocks in promotions/raise cycles.

In almost 15 yrs at Cisco, I've never seen any discriminatory actions against religious folk. At least, not until this vaccination mandate came out and a very vocal percentage suddenly started claiming any exemption they could.

But is a good reason why you should never talk politics or religion at work.

I seriously doubt religion has played as a roadblock in promotions or raise cycles. I might agree with that if you say that it's biased against Muslims or by Muslims against non-Muslims, but I see that more as a race/cultural bias involving Indians and their caste culture. I'm not familiar with the Indian caste bias, so I could have been totally oblivious to it, but I haven't really been part of teams with many Indians and/or Indian managers. The one team I had that was split between the US and India was pretty evenly split, and no one on either team in the 5 yrs I was a part of it got a promotion. Since no one talks about raises, I have no idea if anyone got one.

It will be interesting to see how sh-t plays out once managers can see people's vax status and make raise/bonus/promotion decisions. All I can say is that everyone on my team and the middle management levels are all the same status, so there's nothing to discriminate against.

"Last week, was offered a good position at Cisco and nailed it on the interview. So , we started the process of getting my docx for the background check and all... They asked for my Vax card and I told them that I did not have it because religious reason, and that I had an exemption for it. They simply called me saying that if I wanted the position I had to get the shot. Bummer.."

"Bummer"

Why would Cisco hire you? 90% - 95% of the workforce is vaccinated(could be more). Cisco needs good engineer and sales people, not the 1 out of 20 fringe believers of some anti-vaxx religion.

You have got to be fu----g kidding me? And Cisco trust her to shape and dictate policy, as well as the team working on accommodations rolling up to her!? I think a source of some of Cisco's bias and intimidation against certain demographics including skin color and age groups may have been identified. What a joke

You're right! Authoritarians are everywhere apparently.

We also have a Cisco Leader and Company Check-In next week, and as always, we encourage you to bring any questions you may have to those conversations.

Right - last I heard HR was proposing to shut down comments.

Yeah, I was on a meeting where the leadership called anyone who couldn't get the jab people "with the cooties".

Another person I know was asked... should we even bother training you if your not going to stand behind Cisco's policies?

Basically had her manager threaten her job because she had a deeply held religious belief and didn't want the shot.

Its rather disgusting what leadership has allowed and maybe even encouraged to proliferate.

I was informed by another leader that they were told to immediately shut down any conversations about the accomodations if they came up in meetings.

If that is your required policy - what do you expect to happen but discrimination and pain?

And many people I know that put in a "confidential" accomodation request - have had it outted to thier team in one way or another and are now team pariahs. Heard everything from people being pushed out of meetings (no longer being invited) to being heckled by thier co-workers on a daily basis.

Interesting opposite effect though too - several groups have organized and are gaining membership and momentum and have created super supportive communities. I've personally found a few new friends I thought I'd never have much in common with. Strange times.

I hope that your friend gets the help that they need. There was a report to Cisco ethics that was not responded to and deleted where two colleagues heard another say that the unvaccinated should just die already. That was blasted on another thread on this website, but it happened and I hate to hear that others are dealing with the exact same issue. Cisco had their chance to do something but have allowed it to permeate their culture.

"It is untenable to continue the mandate. And if they withdraw the mandate now an apology to their employees will not be good enough."

Exactly. A great deal of trauma has been inflicted on staff.

Someone I know is getting mental health assistance now as a direct result of the toxic environment he/she was subjected to; people saying the unvaxxed should just die, the hate directed towards those who COULD NOT get the vax due to medical or religious reasons, the fear of losing a job because he/she could not get the vaccine.

Many of the vax fanatics have been terrible and frankly evil and abusive. The ELT hasn't done anything about it. Perhaps they have encouraged it. They certainly created an environment in which it would occur.

Post ID: @2tto+1eb0nXDd

They can't not get rid of the mandate since they clearly said they had to do this because the federal government was demanding it. Of course, the problem is that a bunch of people went out and got vaccines they didn't want because of it.

The other thing is that we all know this was going to be an excuse to do an LR without actually doing an LR. Now they will probably do an actual LR, which should ki-l morale as much as a vaccine mandate that wasn't necessary.

I have heard it said before, but Cisco ELT has completely lost control. Chuck, Fran, and the rest of the ELT's lack of transparency coupled with not being honest with their employees and shareholders has put them in a position where even damage control isn't working.

It is untenable to continue the mandate. And if they withdraw the mandate now an apology to their employees will not be good enough.

I don't believe anything the ELT says anymore. They are proven liars and have taken no steps to rebuild trust, only steps to continue breaking it down.

Great way to water down an argument there.

Saying that the vaccines are fully FDA approved is false. Only one is and it's not available in the US. If so, please share the link on where to get it. Comirnity not BioNTech.

My concerns? First vaccines for a coronavirus when every attempt before failed. First widespread use of mRNA or adenovirus vector vaccines (that required the definition of vaccine to be changed to fit them). Not given time to evaluate many aspects of the therapies. They need boosters or to be mixed and matched to stay effective.

The list goes on and on. Even Fauci and Gates said that aren't working as intended.

Another valid reason? People shouldn't be forced to undergo and undoable medical procedure.

There's the coworkers I know! I was worried that our Cisco peers had given up on trying to force their views and mandates on us or trying to get us fired. But now we are back to the same old attacks on characters and intelligence instead of discussing our concerns and rights.

And who said anything about cubicles, I am not afraid to go outside like many. I don't wear a mask so I am supposed to be dead by now right?

Here is a handy link for you too.

Bumbling moorons that have also been complicit in doctoring revenue numbers for years. Let's see how many times they end up restating numbers over the next two years.

Comirnity is the only FDA approved vaccine, the others are not fully approved. Please see the FDA link below.

And the link that you shared does not have Comirnity listed. Only the BioNTech which is EUA along with others. There is a very clear legal distinction between versions.

Please share the link where the FDA approved vaccine is available in the US.

If you are vaccinated why do you care if your neighbor isn’t? Do vaccines work or not!!?? Do your research. Go to all the Pharma companies and read the side effects. The vaccines don’t protect you against what’s coming. Just keep more boosters coming.

Side effects are real. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/expect/after.html

We have already vaccinated the weak and old. Kids are not dying of COVID. Why are we pushing mRNA dr-gs we have no idea about long term effects into our bodies.

So, my body my choice for everything except COVID, the government decides what goes into it. Wake up people.

WTF has happened to our country where the media and political fear po-n rules the day. Again if you are vaccinated, which I am, great. Let your neighbor decide what’s best for them. But Government should stay out our bedrooms and our bodies.

If you're being sarcastic and asking where the link is because none of them have been approved, they have been fully approved.

"200M in the US are fully vaccinated"

Pfizer disagrees. Almost all of the previously fully vaccinated need to get their boosters. The US is on booster number three while other countries are on what, number four? Talk about efficacy!
