Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

If you got the shot due to concern for your job and were injured by the shot ..you can sue your employer

If the employer mandated or treats you differently due to vaccine status you can sue...
The mandates by the Supreme Court are deemed unconstitutional...
Treatment by a employer that is different than vaccinated...if you are not vaccinated is a civil rights violation...
I think Wells Fargo needs to reassess RTO...very quickly and the mask mandates if not vaccinated...
Remember TREATED differently...
Civil rights violation...

…No, it’s because it’s antivax in sheep’s clothing. This whole time people have been doing what they think is right for their families, and we can all see how that’s been going. The “let’s not make this political”/“both sides” crowd just falsely equivocate to a default of inaction about vaccines, which is essentially just the antivax position.

@sqb+1ehQa5eG gets down votes for asking people to be kinder to each other, and the anti-science folks rig the votes by refreshing their screens over and over.

As if the up vote tallies on this site make you right.

This one poster makes absolutely the most sense and, I might add is much more kind in their delivery.

Vax or not, please stop going back and forth at each other. None of us know it all, and it costs us nothing to be kind. Just do what's best for you and your family. Families are being torn apart over to vax or not vax, life is short. Drop the rhetoric and insults. Listen to the above poster, if not to this as well. We've all been through he-l for the past 2 years, and we're about to be snuggling in the office, so mask up, spray yourself with lysol, and try to keep your distance. We'll get through this together as we always have. And please remember humor is good for the soul.

The OP is not a lawyer. Please don't risk your rent/mortgage payments on posts from this website.

The people replying here are not doctors. Please do not get your health advice from this website.

The people quoting statistics on this website are not telling you the whole story, figures don't lie but liars can figure.

Wash your hands, don't touch your face, wear a mask when needed and give people some space.

Even if you don't want to get vaxxed, if you do those simple things you'll be helping Americans.

I give you half of one gold star out of a possible five gold stars.

You should learn more about statistics and how to interpret them. What the documents you recommended say is “data should be considered in the context of the vaccination status of the population groups shown in the rest of this report. In the context of very high vaccine coverage in the population, even with a highly effective vaccine, it is expected that a large proportion of cases, hospitalisations and deaths would occur in vaccinated individuals, simply because a larger proportion of the population are vaccinated than unvaccinated and no vaccine is 100% effective.”

A couple additional important facts are:
This is from the UK, where 90% of the population has been vaccinated. However, they are including people who are not fully vaccinated having had only one vaccine. Additionally, the UK was among the first regions in Western Europe to lift almost all it’s COVID restrictions, erroneously betting on “public responsibility”.

In the United States, where I’m assuming you live, we have similar studies, for example from Washington State Department Health, which has found, for example:

unvaccinated 35-64 year olds are 17 times more likely to be hospitalized with Covid 19 than fully vaccinated 35-64 year olds.

You people are seriously hilarious

If you got the shot

You can get covid
You can spread covid
Most people in the hospital now are shotted
They are attempting to mandate boosters for a shot that doesn't work
All the data coming from Israel and UK with high shot counts have proven this.
So making people that were shotted not have to wear masks or get tested just like un shotted...based upon the current facts available...and not your feelings..
Would be treating people differently
If a person is not shotted for religious or medical reasons...

"If people are treated differently"...this argument fails, and really shows how much you know about law, lawsuits, and liabilities.

People are treated differently at work all the time. Take an auto manufacturer for example. Employees on the floor in the assembly areas may have to wear optical coverings, face coverings, or be required to wear specific outfitting that pertains to what they do. People who work for that same company in an office may not have to wear those same things. They are treated differently.

People at a retail store may have people working in the back who can wear casual attire and since only one is on shift at a time, they may also be exempt from COVID masks requirements if no other employees are going into their area. People on the floor may have to wear masks daily along with a certain dress code for customer facing employees. They are treating people differently.

The section 504 mentioned here pertains to civil rights. Civil rights pertains to skin color, religion (actual religion, not fake excuses), the language you speak or your nationality, and more. It does not have anything to do with masking, and if you have a true disability, exceptions are afforded to you under section 504. Exceptions are also afforded to you in order to have fair access to a vaccine as well. Rights are also granted for people who get COVID and then suffer from long COVID or post COVID issues - but companies also have the right to investigate to determine if there is true cause. Further yet, 504 also runs along guidance from the CDC and other government entities.

It is not risky for a company to require vaccinations. It's not risky for them to require everyone to mask up at all times - even when at your desk. Our own government has similar measures in regard to jobs that require travel to certain countries. They have requirements for employees that deal with the public vs office jobs. We do as well. We have dress codes, and access to files and certifications/legal paperwork that vary from person to person and affect the way they are treated based on what they do. Those do not count as civil rights violations and attempting a lawsuit - which would be laughed out of court - would only cost the petitioner time and money.

I’m going to sue OP for prolonging the pandemic by not getting vaccinated and not wearing masks and for spouting bs on a public forum.

And then I’m going to sue the OP for the nonsense about tying everything up in courts to the point where there will never be a solution that is acceptable to the “civil rights” cry babies.

And finally, I’m going to suggest to WFC that they put all the non vaccinated employees in to separate rooms/separate floors/separate buildings and keep them away from me. You can all commune about what was on FOX news last night and breathe each other’s air for 8 hours. And if WFC doesn't comply, I’ll sue them for violating my civil rights.

Fair?

There are now over 800,000 Americans who have passed away from COVID.

Most of them this year.

A year where we know how to slow the spread and where we have a freely available vaccine.

You anti-vax people are not going to back down until we hit a million?

Two million?

You don't care about Americans.

Traitors.

You weekend warriors are hysterical
Go back to the persons original post..
If people are treated differently..
So..their statement on everyone wears masks and everyone gets tested...
Is correct..
If they single out one group of people...the liability is huge..
That is probably why the person said WF should rethink RTO ...to make sure of that..
But weekend warriors are too busy being vax important...just like a bunch of testosterone guys..

Nobody's making anyone get vaxxed. Don't want to vax? Get tested. I'm vaxxed and think we all should be -- especially since early reports on Omicron seem to suggest it spreads more easily than covid classic and more easily evades vaccines.

WF isn't forcing you to get a shot to keep your job, and is not requiring you to get a shot to keep your job. End of story. Take the civil rights complaints elsewhere.

More bad advice from Doctor FaceBook.

If you have a legit medical issue with the vaccine, your doctor will let you know.

Most of the "medical" exception people are just trolls.

So tired of this.

Grow up, get your shots, or don't, but if you don't, that's your choice, and you get to live with the consequences.

If you're tired of being called out for being unvaccinated, boo hoo, we're tired of you people keeping the pandemic alive.

Countdown to blaming 46 for the pandemic that began under 45 begins in five..four..three... oh wait, it started months ago.

Anti-vax folks just don't want America to recover because it gives them something to whine about.

Boring.

Oh ok. I’m going to sue Wells Fargo for treating me differently than Charlie Scharf. I think it is unconstitutional that WFC pays Charlie $25 Million/year and they pay me only $125,000/year. They are TREATING ME DIFFERENTLY!!!!

And they are violating my civil rights because he gets to use a nice executive bathroom and I have to use a public bathroom at work.

Let’s all just keep suing each other for everything until the world implodes.

As a person that is tired of the shot drama that can't get it due to medical issues that is not eligible for a exception due to my job and could have retired already ..I have nothing better to do than sue...extra money would be good for my retirement

The people that are childish in yelling at unvaccinated when they don't know their story show they are selfish....
And I am done being a punching bag and will react accordingly...
And since I live in a state that has outlawed mandates and disparate treatment...
RTO better be fair and equal..
Like the previously poster indicated Everyone wears a mask or no one, Everyone gets tested weekly or no one...
Might bring some excitement to my life to sue..
And I won't leave until it gets settled just for fun.

If medically someone can't get a shot..
You are treating them differently...
Either everyone or no one..
If this was filed in a conservative district...

no - they settle out of court because they cannot afford to lose. These types of cases can drag on for years and rack up a lot of legal fees and they will also have to pay plaintiff legal fees. Ask your legal team. They will not be allowed to say anything but if you ask any of them, they will not deny it. Saying it is "winnable" is being presumptuous.

by

Post ID: @zzb+1ehQa5eG

WF fights tons of lawsuits and doesn't shy away from winnable ones. This would be an easy win (many employers doing the same).

If anti-vaxx posters spent less time whining and speculating about lawsuits and more time caring about others and trying to avoid ventilators and death, we'd be in a much better place. YOU are the reason we are in this prolonged mess. Get off the delusion train and own your selfish irresponsibility.

But legal or not, companies do not want to spend $ fighting in court over this one. If they lose and it goes public, it can become a class action suit. Sure companies can do what they want, but in more liberal states like California - courts tend to favor employees.

OP and other posters clearly are ignorant of the law (some posters assertions are also 100% false). It's 100% legal for WF to be doing what they are doing. Same for other employers doing the same.

If you want to act like a lawyer, try going to law school. Until then, stop spreading false information.

Last I checked, individuals with actual medical reasons for being exempt from Wells Fargo's covid requirements are able to apply for and have accommodations approved. Wouldn't that suggest the company is abiding by section 504?

I don't purport to understand the law in depth, so I can only go off of what seems obvious to me. If giving medical exemptions doesn't clear us of section 504, can someone explain why?

Prohibited Discriminatory Acts

There are many forms of illegal discrimination based on race, color, or national origin which frequently limit the opportunities of minorities to gain equal access to services. A recipient of Federal financial assistance may not, based on race, color, or national origin:

X Deny services, financial aid or other benefits provided as a part of health or social service programs;

X Provide a different service, financial aid or other benefit, or provide them in a different manner from those provided to others in the program;

X Segregate or separately treat individuals in any matter related to the receipt of any service, financial aid or other benefit.

Common discriminatory practices are identified in the DHHS Title VI regulation found at 45C.F.R. Part 80.

Your Rights Under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act

What Is Section 504?

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is a national law that protects qualified individuals from discrimination based on their disability. The nondiscrimination requirements apply to organizations that receive financial assistance from any Federal department or agency, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). These organizations include many hospitals, nursing homes, mental health and social service programs, as well as other human

service programs.

.....banks Do receive financial assistance from the government...so..
