Meraki is the Fisher Price of networking. Or maybe baby’s first switch.

I interviewed with the Meraki group a few years ago, while I was still at Cisco. It was an eye opening experience. I wasn't impressed at all.....a bunch of 20 and 30-somethings who thought they could do no wrong, and thought they had total control over their customers. It was embarrassing some of the stuff they told me during the interview...I had to bite my tongue repeatedly to keep my comments to myself. From what I've heard, nothing has changed.
Sure, the key founders/etc went to Samsara....but they were a big part of the culture problem Meraki had (and still has).

Merakians are like a cult within Cisco.
Somehow Meraki has managed to spread its tentacles into all areas of Cisco and slowly taking over and spreading their brainwashed mentality.

If you are familiar with Ciscos, it’s becoming more like that every day. Not to say that’s necessarily a bad thing, but so many ICs and managers are moving to Meraki that the Meraki culture is naturally being displaced by broader Ciscos.

Near term business for Meraki is very strong, but I think a lot of it may be customers pulling in orders from 1-2 years out to get in line for product that
Might not ship for 10 months. If you work in sales, keep the
In mind as you get paid on ship. Longer term, what Meraki is will change. Meraki will stop being a business unit and start being the cloud interface for other Cisco products.

Overall, better than average today. If you are looking for a long term career, maybe seek out a more modern company.
