Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

The Triple Bottom line

Companies are not just concerned with financial bottom line. They’re also concerned with social and environmental bottom lines.

I can see any company having a FB Twit page. I get.

But I feel like getting dragged down every social rabbit ho-e does no good. It’s a waste of money.

Unfortunately management believes in value of engagement with every social issue that comes down the river.

If they could have laser sharp focus, they could bring the company back to its former glory.

But how would you communicate this upward, in such a behemoth company.

Many in management are just there for a paycheck. They have essentially decoupled themselves from real stakeholders.

There is no way for upper management to understand they are wearing the emperor’s new clothes.

Average employees are the new silent majority.

In all truth, Cisco's senior leaders are cowards. Instead of focusing employees on the success of the business, they've surrendered to the progressives who believe in taking everyone down to the lowest common denominator. It's just easier for them.

Of course, they believe that their earnings are protected and that they're just sacrificing the earnings of the expendable chaff.

Social rabbit holes are great distractions. Is anyone talking about our push to outsource more jobs to India? Or our goal to transition more full-time employees to contract jobs without benefits? How about our lack of relevant product offerings?

Social initiatives at Cisco are intended to divide & distract employees.
