There’s a lot of info on here about the toxicity in EMIT, Upstream, and many other technical roles. Not much info on SSHE.
I worked a SSHE role for a few years before being piped off in 2020, and I don’t think I’ve ever worked a more toxic and political role in my life. Everything was about visibility and kissing the right a$$. We were even encouraged to find a mentor aka. Sponsor.. it was basically expected if you wanted any kind of success and longevity.
The name of the game in SSHE was to constantly justify your existence since by default, since we don’t really contribute to the bottom line from a business perspective..
Those of you who worked or currently work SSHE, how are you holding up?
And those of you who work or have worked closely with SSHE, what are your thoughts?
