There is Weekly Check-In that my manager told me to submit on Fridays. Not just that, he told me (almost "forced me" or "demanded me") to select "Yes" for the question of:
"This week, did xxxxxxx xxxxxx (my manager's name) connect with you about your work priorities? (e.g. in person, in Team Space, via text, via email, etc.)"
My manager said if I select "No" for this question, I would be requested by HR to discuss with them about possible termination (separation from the company).
So he demanded me to always select "Yes" for this question. But I don't feel right. I feel like I'm lying. The fact is that there aren't many things to work on in our team actually. He doesn't assign me any task or activity, hence there is no such a priority or anything as a matter of fact. I'm just doing one small task for over a year.
Under this circumstance, should I still keep lying about the above question in Weekly Check-In although he NEVER connects with me about my work priorities at all?
Also, do you think this is some kind of power harassment against me? If so what should I do?
I'm so pressured and stressed out about this forcibly select "Yes" for something untrue.
Also, do you think HR will truly approach me to get rid of me if I start to select "No" for the above question every week?
I'm so scared and I feel like I'm lying every week for over a year. But if I want to stay at this company, should I keep selecting "Yes" to keep my job here? I just don't want to play this kind of game anymore...
Please someone advise me what I should do?
I don't know whom to ask about this...
I don't know if I should report this to HR or Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
But if I did it, will my job here still be secured?
Will my manager get so upset with me?
Please help advise me.
