Forced to select "Yes" for a Question in "Weekly Check-In"

There is Weekly Check-In that my manager told me to submit on Fridays. Not just that, he told me (almost "forced me" or "demanded me") to select "Yes" for the question of:

"This week, did xxxxxxx xxxxxx (my manager's name) connect with you about your work priorities? (e.g. in person, in Team Space, via text, via email, etc.)"

My manager said if I select "No" for this question, I would be requested by HR to discuss with them about possible termination (separation from the company).

So he demanded me to always select "Yes" for this question. But I don't feel right. I feel like I'm lying. The fact is that there aren't many things to work on in our team actually. He doesn't assign me any task or activity, hence there is no such a priority or anything as a matter of fact. I'm just doing one small task for over a year.

Under this circumstance, should I still keep lying about the above question in Weekly Check-In although he NEVER connects with me about my work priorities at all?

Also, do you think this is some kind of power harassment against me? If so what should I do?

I'm so pressured and stressed out about this forcibly select "Yes" for something untrue.

Also, do you think HR will truly approach me to get rid of me if I start to select "No" for the above question every week?

I'm so scared and I feel like I'm lying every week for over a year. But if I want to stay at this company, should I keep selecting "Yes" to keep my job here? I just don't want to play this kind of game anymore...

Please someone advise me what I should do?

I don't know whom to ask about this...
I don't know if I should report this to HR or Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
But if I did it, will my job here still be secured?
Will my manager get so upset with me?

Please help advise me.

"Team Space is a waste of time. Which one of ELT’s kids runs that company anyway? It has to be a family member because of the way they keep flogging it. As an individual contributor, I never did the weekly check ins - I spoke to my RD 3x a week. As an RD now, I never force my team to do them. The only ones who care about Team Space are the ELT who are so disconnected from the front line employees, they are desperate to have some form of “connection” with them."

So what is an ELT?

I can save the company $20 million on Teamspace. Just email your manager once a week with your 5 top priorities. Exact same result for free!

Ahhh check-ins. Useless process to please the system. If your boss has not discussed any priorities yet insists you lie, say no. You can't be fired for that but it's possible your manager tries to portray you as a problematic element.

I might start putting ascii in my checkins for fun. You absolutely don’t have to mark yes every time and you do have an HR case. If you file an HR case you are protected against retaliation, I would file an HR case and mark no every time if my manger didn’t connect. All he has to do is ping you once and ask if you need anything lmao

Many managers do that. It’s not limited to yours.

That's why I never checked in. I got called out multiple times .. it looks bad on manager . Not you. As long as you do your work, don't worry

If you don't check the box you get on your managers bad side and you are terminated for a random reason

If you go to HR and tell them your team has no work half your team gets LRd in September.

Ping your manager once a week and check yes if it's bothering your conscience. Also why would you even want to stay there if you have no work...

Your manager gets in trouble, not you. Mark no.

Grow a pair and refuse. It reflects badly on him/her, not you.

I just stopped caring, if they want me to draw a freaking unicorn in ascii in the comments I would do it as well.
We have long passed the point of Logic and doing things for the right reasons.
