Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

This is eerily accurate

We're looking for someone with the wisdom of a 50-year-old, the experience of a 40-year-old, the drive of a 30-year-old, and the pay scale of a 20-year-old.

I know this is old, but I've been trying to find a new job for a few months and this has never seemed more accurate than it is now. This is exactly what companies want and they're shocked when we say "no, thanks." Then they claim nobody wants to work.

Oddly enough, I’m looking for the pay of a CEO with the responsibility of an entry level position. Lol

I’ll negotiate something in the middle or choose a different company.

Those who have genuine talent and marketable skills will go elsewhere ... why struggle in a cesspool of failure and mediocrity?

Nonsense. From the kids with 2 or 3 years of experience, they want to be paid like a 50 yeard old for do nothing more than what a 20 year old can do. Get some experience. And then, you too can get paid the big money. I went to a customer of Honeywell form Honeywell and they doubled my pay because I have the skills and experience they need.

Gig life will be the norm soon.
Honeywell will try … then realize that they have no continuity and have to pay former contractors to return ( at 4X the rate).

Companies love gig work until they have to pay for the SME.

Entry level = 5 years experience?

@yav 100% agree. Doing the same job, at the same site, with the same coworkers (the ones that are left). Benefits: No one watching over me, no block ratings or reviews, no unnecessary training and best of all No Free Overtime. Every hour is billed and paid. When they are done with you your agency sends you somewhere new.

Many incompetent "child managers" these days -- heads a'bobbin when the executive bellows.

Call a contracting company. I have really enjoyed the gig life. All the job minus the political BS. Made more last year than B4 , block 1-2 EVER got me at Honeywell. MIP? What a joke..
