Look up Jared Mauch Michigan, he was fed up with lack of boardband and created his own fiber service for his community. He invested his own money and charged his neighbors a simple rate, no junk fees. With federal funding, his network is expanding to cover more areas.
Comcast wanted $50K to install cable line to his house, AT&T offers just 1.5Mbps internet. Stanky lamented about small communities don't have the expertise to build and provide broadband service, tell him to STFU. No doubt highly paid lobbyists are working hard to stop community based projects. We have so much potential to reach underserved communities, these are the people who will be customers for life. Meanwhile, billions are burned on media pipe dream. How's Stanky not fired? Un-TF'ing believable!!
