2 years EMIT w/ non MBA masters degree, left for 90% increase to FAANG
7 years EMIT w/ sponsor, left for 110% increase again to FAANG
6 years EMIT, left for 25% increase to consulting (w/ MBA being paid for by company while working)
3 years EMIT top performer, left for 80% increase to FAANG
4 years EMIT, left for late stage startup that was supposedly valued at 50% (funny money is hard to price, especially with the recent tech stock slide). Not really sure what it is now, maybe breaking even?
Starting salary at a FAANG is around $160k straight out of college, EMIT is 80s. 2-3 yoe in FAANG can be over 200k easily, while at XOM you may be lucky to hit 100k these days now that you don’t get the auto CL bump. All of these were in 2022 and only one relocated to my knowledge (their decision, not company forced) and one occasionally travels to Austin for work.
