Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

It is high time to clean the house

Let's face it. VZ has lost its way by not focusing on the business and understanding RF propagation to compete effectively with 5G. While we have staffed strategy teams, they obviously have an ineffective strategy. It's time for the Board to clean house at the C-level down to the SVP level and infuse new culture and new thinking.

OP @fmt+1jxnmhnW . I couldn't have said it better, however, I have no hopes that this will happen or that VZ will get back on track. I'd love that, but,,,

5yee ultra wide band sounds good but doesn’t work good. Skinny jeans sounds good but doesn’t look good.

I remember when they did un announced home visits. Try it now I call the cops and have a cold water to pour on you while your outside. I will also be with my entire family out front of your house door unannounced if that's done. Oh and let's not forget some of us are registered g-n owners.

It’s called millimeter wave for a reason. It travels a millimeter or two. Move an inch and the signal is lost. The vendors made billions on useless millimeter gear that will eventually be abandoned and left hanging on utility poles along with rotting 100 copper.

All those times some 4 to 5 years back when all the corporate ladder climbers were touting mmw in conferece calls. In fact they couldnt say the term "millimeter wave" enough. Almost seemed like a contest between those people who could use the term more. There were many RF Engineers and Net Ops Field Techs that DID tell their Managers and Directors their concerns about millimeter wave. No one in management was interested in "following the science".

Why didn’t the fcc tell us that mmWave doesn’t penetrate glass on streeterville high rises before we wasted billions on spectrum and equipment? I got hardware on every light pole with zero customers!
