11,000 people laid off by Facebook

That's what I call "Massive" - there will be a ton of talent available for hire now

I really wish I can see what 11,000 people looks like. That’s a relatively big number. I do feel bad for that one lady who was having a baby the same day she got laid off. Then again, who in the H E L L lays off people just before the holidays? Too cruel. Since these companies don’t mind sticking it to the employees, I think we need to find ways to stick it back to them, tenfold.

Does anyone know how much more we are going to let go from now on into 2023?

@1jgz+1jCqEndz, looking at the "official" headcount numbers reported in the Quarterly Earnings decks,, WFC has gone from 272K down to 239K since the end of 2020 (pretty sure that doesn't include shifts to India since Schart's headcount in Teamworks still shows 270K) so they've laid off / attritted 12% already.

If you recently just started with Facebook and got laid off, you’re getting a minimum 16 weeks severance. That’s over 2 1/2 months. Not bad in my opinion. Did I misunderstand something?

Correct. Will be in a recession until the next election cycle. Read your history, people.

@1zhl because the market hates stability and government that's too busy to actually legislate?

It's a recession, deal with it. The average recession length is 10 months, so we'll be rising out of it just in time for the next presidential election cycle.

Chuck’s laying off 26,000 WF peeps. He’s just done it piece meal and at every opportunity he’s avoided WARN notices.
He isn’t a leader or a manager, and his salad tossers aren’t either.

It would be terrible to be laid off, but not as terrible as an exotic dancer grinding on your face unsolicited.
