Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I think I know the answer, but has anyone received a severance if they were terminated for not being in the office?

To the id--t that thought they should get 3 warnings before being fired for not coming to the office really? You knew you were suppose to come in. Thumbing your nose at management and thinking nothing would happen is on you.

No one has been terminated for that. It is all bots and manipulators trying to farm engagement and scare you into compliance.

If this is the average intelligence level of T employees, no wonder the company is tanking.

  • If you don’t meet the requirement of being in the office, you will be fired without severance and no unemployment. This is happening all over.

Yes of course. The report is not actionable for firing.

I know someone who never went into the office during 3 Day RTO and when org had a round of layoffs late 2024 she was included.

Severance packages are only provided if you are involuntarily laid off. Involuntarily terminated does not get you severance.

I only stayed in the office 4 to 6 hours but volunteered for an involuntary layoff so I get severance and unemployment after I'm off payroll. Turned out exactly as I hoped!! Keep up the fight!!

No, because they were fired.

When you are fired you don’t get severance or qualify for state unemployment benefits.

Probably way too early to know. Most affected employees are hoping and praying that Stankey will show and provide goodwill. Personally, I highly doubt it.

They are looking for ways to let you go without paying severance
