Out shopping and overheard a teenager telling her friends her dad used to work there and it was “hella toxic”.
My physician son warning me years ago to be careful because most of his patients who work at EM are suffering from stress related illnesses.
A friend told me she is retiring next month because she is on the verge of having a nervous breakdown because of her boss and the increased workload.
After telling my neighbor I’m thinking about quitting, she tells me she isn’t surprised. Her daughter works in a clinic that treats patients with anxiety & depression and it’s full of EM people. Through their patients, the staff know all about the company and its culture. It’s sad, but it’s a running joke that EM is their bread & butter. Her daughter is finding it hard to work there and not be permitted to tell patients to run like he-l from EM.
It’s tough hearing that EM and its toxic culture is common knowledge and full of employees who are suffering from anxiety and depression. I get it. This place has always been competitive, but in the last few years, it’s become dysfunctional and toxic. I’m quitting at the end of the year because I’ve unhappy at work for some time. I’m fortunate I can afford to leave when I choose and before I developed medical issues from this place. I hope those that are left can steer this boat back on course. It’s a shame to see such a large and profitable company fall in disgrace all because of incompetent leaders.
