Can anyone confirm if you can collect unemployment while on severance in Iowa? I messaged the IwD office but they won’t answer my question.

@m8 wrong
IWD will not allow you to collect if you make more than $600 a week from WF
Agree. I was eligible to collect unemployment from my last job due to a layoff. I didn’t collect because I wasn’t going to seek employment again.
100% you can collect unemployment while on severance in Iowa. My wife did exactly that last year. Good luck dealing with those bozos though.
@bg clearly you haven’t been displaced because the FAQ says it’s up to the state. Troll somewhere else.
Texas definitely. I got a severance and I’m also enjoying my unemployment benefits. All the best in this turbulent times..
In NJ you can definitely do both after the 60 day period.
seriously?
good thing this wasn't covered in the Q & A in the packet......
sigh, apparently, there is a reason for these layoffs.
Nope, No double dipping. Unemployment is offset by your severance; e.g., if you get 8 weeks severance, then unemployment benefits will not be paid until after the 8 weeks of severance.
Yes you can in Iowa.
DSM will become one unemployed flyover hailhole.
There are very few states that allow you to take both simultaneously.
@a3 I would never relocate my family for this company.
Try to relocate to Charlotte if you can. We are chipping away at Des Moines.
ask Google or chatgpt, upon doing so you'll see the answer is no. once severance is over you can, assuming you are still Unemploymbt
