Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Rachel Kutz needs to go!

AT&T won’t truly improve until leadership changes at the top.

We have leaders who don’t prioritize employees or even the company — it’s all about personal image. Our VPGM is a prime example. There’s a serious lack of engagement, and half the time, she sounds like she’s not even fully present. It’s no surprise we’re falling behind as a market when this is the kind of leadership we’re expected to follow.

This isn’t about being bitter — it’s about calling out what’s broken. We need leaders who understand the business, who’ve actually worked the grind, and who lead with common sense and accountability.

You want to stop people from just collecting paychecks? Start at the top. That’s where the real waste

Wow! This could not be a bigger misrepresentation. Actually shocked at the nastiness of this post on Rachel. I had a very different experience working with and being impacted by AT&T under her leadership. When I was surplused from AT&T years ago, Rachel was the ONLY person that reached out after the fact to see how I was doing. She checked on me, gave me recommendations, and went way ABOVE AND BEYOND, just like the way she led our team. She cared. I truly felt that I was able to leave with my dignity intact, and that helped me springboard to my current position. I do have to agree, though, that many leaders in the company are aloof; however, that was NOT my experience with Rachel. She was truly one of the best leaders in the business who really cared. She also happened to be one of the smartest people I have ever worked with, so thinking that the poster may be deranged or bitter? Rachel always worked doggedly to do the right thing for employees and customers alike, and I have taken that with me (to a competitor, unfortunately). Thanks again Rachel for being a GOOD human.

This place exists to shovel money in the front of the house and cart it out the back door, with or without scrutiny. In the words of Metallica, nothing else matters. Get it yet?

I actually put this on my survey- leadership not knowing the business.
We once had a VP that was clueless and would go to customer sites and the customers also knew he was clueless. We tell the VP he needs to learn about the business and he responds back to us that doesn’t because VPs are untouchable. Well, the guy got surplused 6 months later.
So there is hope that upper mgmt that is clueless is replaced with knowledgeable people who want to lead and not just collect paychecks.

A lot of L2s and L3s changes/replacements are also needed.
