Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Roller Coaster

Last year it was brain drain
==> We will offer everyone raise and bring them up to 95% and hire like crazy
==>We are investing more and more . We are behind in manufacturing and design
==> Oh, the economy is reopening, so folks dont want PC
==> Oh, there is data center digestion going on
==> There will force a brain drain because we are facing heavy losses
==> We are going to give voluntary CPM, so we can save best talent
==> We are will have to defer raises in a high inflation environment by 1 quarter
==> Oh, we have to reduce QGS
==> Alright, we messed up, we are running on fumes, we need to cut all benefits and ask the hard working employees for money to keep this company going for the bad decisions made by the company.

I wonder why I am still here in this organization ...

I bleed blue for many years. But with base pay and 401k reduction, they have just dipped their hand in my pockets and taking money from me to run this company.

I have been here for multiple decades, and I am sad today and angry on myself for sticking around this long.

Back in the day I attended a talk ASG gave in Oregon. I was impressed because ASG openly talked about mistakes he had made and how to correct. When was the last time CEO or ELT stood up and said they made a bad decision? All I hear is, ' we were disappointed' or 'external forces were unknowable..'. well I call b.s. Stand up and speak clearly. Grade your work and be clear and admit and take ownership. You will be surprised how far a little humble honesty will go.

Technically you can polish a tu-d. You just can't fix this sh*thole of a company.

If you mix raisins with turds, they’re still turds.

The signs have been there for years but you ignored them. Cr-p in one hand and hope in the other and see which one fills up faster.

The direction is right. You have to admit that BK and Bob put us at a disadvantage from a technical leadership perspective while lining their pockets with "beat and raise". Pat has to get us back to parity on manufacturing. We are not paying for Pats mistakes but his predecessors. Now the pay cut is different. They really went over the top. Cutting our 401k match is terrible. Not allowing the employees to take part in the spin off of mobile eye IPO while allowing leadership to take part in it is a social class issue. The dividend is at odds with the mission of attempting to become a growth company and paying people for performance. The only thing they could do worse to the employees and further degrade morale is a 2nd layoff.
