Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

for the journalist that earlier asked what's going on...

  • yes, layoffs are happening today.
  • multiple areas are hit (including digital one and us digital).
  • dpt hits (some listed but not all): digital one, digital one implementations, us digital, client office, finance (svps), settlements, ibs, channel sales, offshore d1 devs.
  • entire channel sales team is reported gone.
  • ibs and settlements report several cuts.
  • finance svps and senior directors in client office were laid off.
  • some teams shrank from about 15 people to 5.
  • good, long term employees are being cut.
  • news delivered via teams meetings, poorly managed.
  • we are all anxious + angry + resentful.
  • leadership su-ks.
  • additional random sh-t.

@OP ditto leadership in the banking unit have no clue what software development is. They have four versions of the mobile app alive, and they keep asking teams to develop and deliver faster! More Agile voila! (For those people who work in the trenches, you know that is the most stupidest thing a company can do! Testing and maintenance alone is very heavy)

@cx That's only in the case if layoffs that affect at least 50 employees at a single site within a 30-day period.

Pretty sure FIS violated the WARN act with all these zero day layoff notices. They are supposed to give us 60 day notice or pay a fine to each employee.

@ac no sell but they’re really trying to save face and clean house considering the absolute failure of the WorldPay acquisition.

They have to be preparing for a sell.

There are not enough resources left, particularly in account management, to cover these losses. Up until this morning leaders were hat in hand asking CSM leaders to cover their clients after the RIF. Note that these “clients” are mostly our largest enterprise clients and largest banks around the globe.

And every Townhall is AI, AI, AI. My gosh, these people are so out of touch with their employees. Everyone I know is miserable. Stressed out. Great way to motivate everyone.
