Not enough. The announced numbers are always lower than the reality.

Lores can seriously believe that people are buying AI as any significant reason for the layoffs. Maybe HP can utilize this AI to do his job?
@OP 1.7T at least. Just from your dept alone.
As many as possible will lose their job in US. HP is aggressively offshoring to India and Singapore.
AI is a poor excuse and Lores is not very good at justifying it.
Due to housing and healthcare inflation it is just too expensive to hire employees in the US. Tech will end up just like manufacturing, except jobs will go to India.
